Pioneer DVR-212DD or Sony/NEC (AD-7220S-0B or AD-7200S-0B)? by
Ant
Hi all.
I am debating on which SATA DVD+CD burner to get for my next computer
upgrade. I am still using my old Plextor CD burner and it is time to
retire it and go DVD! Which one would you pick -- PioneerDVR-212DD or
Sony/NEC (AD-7220S-0B or AD-7200S-0B)? They cost about 30 bucks.
I will be...

Nero 6 Multisession DVD question by
DaveJohnson12@nomail.
I'm trying to burn a Multisession DVD-R (data disc).
On the Compilation Properties screen - Multisession Tab I clicked on the Start Multisession disc
button. On the Burn tab, the Write Method is grayed out and it says Disc-at-once.
Shouldn't this be set to Track at Once for a Multisession disc...

Nero UDF & UDF/ISO confusion by
K2
I have tried various techniques of making an incremental backup CD-R
with Nero 5.5.10.54 using UDF and UDF/ISO formats. I mainly want to
backup digital camera photos as months go by, filling up one CD-R at a
time.
I have "Multisession" checked and everything seems to copy fine
(different files on...

which dvd burner do you recommend? by
Cut
Finally upgrading my cd burner to a dvd burner. I have a gift card at best
buy. Want an internal burner. Which of these do you recommend? Leaning
towards the slower, less expensive drives but your opinions may persuade me
to go faster.
If i go the less expensive route, looking at the lite-on...

Hi guys--
I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup to ask for help on DVD issues,
if not I apologize. Maybe you could point me to the correct newsgroup.
I have a problem that started to show up burning dvd's with Nero. For some

DVDXCopy by
Connected
Weren't these guys taken to court and told to stop selling their DVD
movie copying software? I ask because I was in a store in Canada
yesterday (London Drugs) and they had a copy of DVDXCopy on the shelf
for $99.00 CAD. The box stated that it would let you copy any movie. I
asked the clerk if they...

"Closing out a CD"-How? by
[email protected]
HI group.
I have been using InCD to copy some favorites and memos to a CD-RW from
my PC, to take with me to a friends PC, but it will not work! Her PC
freezes up in My Computer screen.
Reading here, I think that it may be(?) that I did not "close out the
CD"- I don't know how you do that.
Any help...

How's Nero 6 compared to 5.5 by
wß
I have been using Nero 5.5 for a while and am comfortable with it.
My latest burner came with 6.3.1.4. Any reason to upgrade?
What piqued my interest were the additional features, i.e. backup, wave
editor, etc. It does look a little bloated but that's not always a bad
thing.
I have been using...

CD-RW disc problems by
Mattrixx
This may sound like a dumb question but here goes:
When you write to a CD-RW and then later erase that same CD-RW, must you
Format
that same CD-RW *Disc* in order to write yet again?
I have 5 Memorex CD-RW disc`s that I know I have successfully written to at
some point in time, and then recently...

strange NEC CD-RW drive problem by
Mike Holder
I've started having a problem with my NEC NR-7700A CD-RW drive
on my 2+ year old Gateway machine. If I do a power up (cold
reboot), the activity LED on the drive blinks constantly, the BIOS
(American Megatrends) doesn't recognize the drive properly,
and consequently, Windows XP (or Linux) won't...

Backing up hard-drive to CD-R's? by
D. Lee
I want to back up the most important stuff on my PC's hard-drive to several
CD-R's. So I find this apparently convenient program simply called "Backup"
that must have come with the Windows 98 that I have on my PC. However,
whenever I try to specify the destination as being my 52X CD-R/RW drive, I...

Plextor does NOT support their drives under Server 2003 ????? by

Ok, we upgraded our server with WinServer 2003, and now the damn
Plextor we use to back up files takes forever to see a disc in the

fine. This may be a bug in 2003, as it never happened in NT4. I

CD-RWs unreliable? by

I've read this before and I was wondering why this is so.
I have several CD-RW discs containing important data - some burned over
three years ago - and have not run into issues like data loss. I am
concerned with what *could* happen though. Can someone explain to me the
reason it's not as reliable...

Can't drag and drop onto a CDR disk with Sony cd writer by
NgOnly
Hi. I bought a Sony CRX225A CD-R/RW 52X write, 24X rewrite drive.
This replaces my Yamaha CRW2100E rewritable drive which stopped writing to
disks not too long ago (after only 150 disks used -- sucks but that is
another story).
My question is this. I used Adaptec DirectCD with the Yamaha drive,...
