new AMD R700 - Radeon HD 4870 X2 info by
NV55
The R700 - Radeon HD 4870 X2 product will be a single card that uses
two RV770 GPUs.
Unlike previous AMD X2 products which are CrossFire on a card, and
Nvidia's GX2 products which are SLI on a card, the communication
between the RV770 GPUs in R700 / 4870 X2 is *not* CrossFire. This
will...

GeForce GTX 260, GTX 280 (GT200) vs Radeon HD 4850, HD 4870 (RV770) by
NV55
http://www.expreview.com/img/news/2008/05/27/GT200-VS-RV770.png
It seems Nvidia will have the advantage in TMUs / textures, and ROPs /
fillrate
while ATI / AMD have the advantage in shader and flops performance.
This is not even concidering the introduction of R700 aka HD 48x0 X2
with dual RV770...

1 or 2 MB cache - how much performance difference? by
GTS
Building a budget PC and ordered an OEM AMD X2 5600 2Mb cache (2x1mb)

BUT Ebuyer have sent me an OEM cpu that is not even listed on their website:
ADO5600IAA6DO
The one they sent only has 1mb (2x512kb) cache. So what difference will I
noitice - is it worth RMA'ing?
There are other...

CPU temp difference between 2400 and 2700 by
Lee M.
All other things equal, what would you expect the CPU idle temp difference
(if any) to be between an AthlonXP 2400 (266FSB) and a 2700 (333FSB)? Would
you think a 5-6F lower ambient and better ventilated case would result in a
19C lower CPU temp for the 2400?

Gilles Vollant
Hello,
Do you known what motherboard support Hyper-V (the new hypervisor

Hyper-V uses AMD-V (AMD virtualisation instructions, named Pacifica), which
is supported on AM2/AM2+ Athlon. But if you have an Athlon stepping "F1", a
bug prevent using...

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Opens A Can of Words on Intel by
NV55
http://tinyurl.com/3htnuq
I've never heard Jen-Hsun go on about Intel like that in a conference
call before.
He must truly be worried about Intel's upcoming Larrabee
architecture.
I think Larrabee scares the living **** out of him.
