Recommended 939 motherboard, AGP, >= 6 SATA ? by
Andre Majorel
Any recommendations for a socket 939 motherboard with at least 2
IDE ports and 6 SATA ports ? It's important that it's AGP, not
PCI-Express, as all PCI-Express VGA cards appear to have
chipsets that require proprietary kernel modules and/or X
drivers.

Intel leaving low-end chipset business? by
Yousuf Khan
It seems Intel is running tight on low-end chipset capacity at its
older fabs, and is going to concentrate on the high-end Centrino
chipsets and stuff. That means all of the Celerons will be left high
and dry (can't run a CPU without chipset -- yet). It's not likely that
the Taiwanese chipset...

Quick question on Athlon 64 x2 board compatibility... by
[email protected]
Hi folks,
Thinking of getting an X2 4400+ and a Gigabyte N4 SLI board at the same
time.
I know older 939 boards have the option of a BIOS upgrade to make the
X2 chips compatible, but I will be buying a new board with the chip and
I won't have the chance to upgrade if it isn't compatible out of...

New video connector standard coming? by
YKhan
They're trying to replace the old VGA connector again. They've already
tried twice with the DVI and HDMI standards, neither of which are
particularly popular compared to VGA. Now those two standards will
still be with us, as yet another standard, DisplayPort, tries the same
thing against VGA. How...

Intel Application Accelerator 2.3, any good? by

I remeber way back, on another computer I had tried Intel's application
accelerator, which was supposed to replace Microsoft's drivers for disk
access and so on. I ran into a number of problems and other things, I kind
of regretted doing it.
I haven't looked at it since. However, I have a somewhat...

Socket-939 Semprons by

Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever seen a Socket-939 Sempron in the wild?
They are not (yet?) mentioned on AMD's site.

But, according to AnandTech, two S939 Semprons should be available
now, a 1.8GHz+128KB part and a 1.8...
