Overclocking Tests on Bootable CD/DVDs by
DRT
Hi. Does anyone know of a good bootable CD/DVD that contains
utilities to benchmark and "torture" test an x86 system?
The torture tests need to be bootable from CD. The reason is that
several occasions now, I have aggressively overclocked my CPU and
memory to feel out the performance...

RAM Burns out during computer sleep by
[email protected]
I am using a P975X ASUS motherboard, with OCZ overclockable RAM - OCZ
HPC 1GB - that states in the manual must run at 2.30V (and can
tolerate 2.35V with no damage - I am running them at 2.30V). On two
occasions now, when the computer enters sleep it results in the buring
out of the RAM. This...

Dell Optiplex GX1 RAM by
Tom Del Rosso
The system has 3 slots, and 1 is occupied by a 128MB 9-chip single sided
DIMM, so it has ECC but is apparently unbuffered.
I want to bring it up to 512MB, or 640MB if possible.
The Dell website has 2 RAM options listed for the GX1 -- 1 ECC registered
and 1 non-ECC unbuffered.
This seems strange...

MB/s Throughput on Power5 and AMD by
Bill Hill
Hi
Does anyone know where to find throughput numbers (MB/s) for IBM Power5, AMD
or Intel dual-core processors. Everything I ve found so far has been TPC-C
numbers, which I do not fully understand.
I am trying to see what the max data I can pump through a bladecenter server
per core.
Regards.

Latest is http://iopanel.net/forum/showthread.php?t=881&www.reghardware.co.uk
Intel has never implemented legacy I/O in their chipsets, just the bus to connect it to.
It was originally in the ISA super IO chip, which moved to LPC...
