Replace SCSI disk in a HPUX workstation? by
kalev-
I'm trying to learn a bit HP-UX on a C360 workstation vintage: yr ~2000. I'm
having trouble with space: only have a (HP) 4GB Seagate Barracuda UW
(40MB/sec interface?) disk in it. Can I successfully replace it with a
larger disk, assuming an UW interface? Should/could even a Ultra/2 or /3
disk...

LVD 160/320 SCSI: termination or dead disk drive? by
Maxim S. Shatskih
Hi,
I have the Tekram SCSI controller and a small cable shipped together with
it. The cable is short, absolutely symmetrical and has 2 absolutely same
connectors on both end. No visible terminators.
Also I have a 68-to-80 pin adapter.
Also I have a 80pin drive, which is claimed to be Seagate...

consistency by
[email protected]
For a custom database implementation, I'm generating 128 byte log
pre-image logs of sections of the page. I need to pair the log data
with the file offset (4 bytes).
For this problem, assume:
1) 512-byte or larger binary disk sectors (very reasonably portable)
2) meta-data won't need updating (I...

HP Checklist for SANs by
[email protected]
Hi,
I thought we had everything covered, but we still have issues. I
can't find HP's "Checklist" for Windows hosts on a SAN (for backup).
Our Windows group thought they had it but noone can find it. We have a
mix of 2000 and 2003. Anybody gotta link to a doc/web/pdf?
Thanks,
Tom

Server Consolidation - Industry Standards by
Cooler
Can anyone point me to a website or some documentation that addresses
this?
What are the best practices, ie. recommended number of users per
server, CPU load per server.... I know it's a loaded question but if
there is a good place to research this I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

All is sweet, except the failover doesn't actually work - it gives scsi

I have two qlogic QLA2340 cards in a proliant server.
Each HBA goes to an HP Switch nad onto the HSG80...

EMC SnapSure for Exchange by

I'm assuming this is somewhat like NetApp's SnapManager for Exchange.
However, I can't find much information about it. Is anyone using it?
Can you comment on it's functionality and ease of use?
Thanks,
David

EMC / Dell AX100 Performance by
Stan Kasper
Greetings,
I am trying to get a rough idea of the performance of the EMC / Dell AX100
in GigaBytes per minute. Given a single highend machine connected to the
storage array, what would be some rough numbers for sequential reads
and writes (gigabytes/min)?
Thanks,

Checking SAN connectivity ? (sun and CX600) by
ubergoonz
I was told by the patching team that the SAN cables are connected to
the server and CX600.
The said system is a Sun V440 with 2 X Emulex LP9002L HBA.
Is there any way to verify SAN connectivity on the Sun server like
maybe a ping on regular network?
