How to burn from cue files? by mike o'sullivan
I frequently have a lot of trouble burning with cue files and have to resort to burning the old-fashioned way. "Cannot open the file..........an error ocurred" - Is the message I frequently get when attempting to burn a disc using the cue file. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I can't see any...

Where's my data? by vijay j.
I had some important data on a CD, which is CD-R (Recordable). Since there was some space left on the CD, I wrote some more files to it (I write the files on a CD by Drag-and-Dropping, and then clicking "write these files to CD", Windows XP). Though these files were written successfully, I was...

I make a compilation, like the one right now which is 85 megs, and pop in a blank disc, and upon trying to burn it, I get the following error dialog: "There is not enough space to burn this...

Need reliable info by [email protected]
Hello, My company needs to make a decision which media to buy. There's no doubt that TY is excellent, but we were also using Princo... Now, according to CD Media World (http://www.cdmediaworld.com), Princo CDRs are of low quality, but in fact, this type of CD wasn't tested, plus, this info dates...

Mitsui & Taiyo Yuden CD-R blanks still the best? by [email protected]
Years ago when I was buying blank CD-R's, I wanted to buy only the highest quality brands that were especially believed to last significantly longer than other ones that were known to become degraded eventually over the years. Back then, the brands that seemed to have the best reputations were...

SONY CRX230E & NERO 6 PROBLEMS by Tim
I've recently purchased a SONY CRX230E CD-RW drive. I'm had compatibility issues with my copy of Nero 5, so upgraded to Nero 6. This solved some of those issues - i.e. I am now able to write data (mp3) CDs - although I encounter errors when attempting to record audio CDs. Sometimes it comes up with...

Upside down backward by Michael G
Attempting to burn a avi movie to a cdr with Nero 5.5. Some of the time the movie is recorded upside down backward. But not all avi files. The file in question plays correctly from the HDD. So far never effects an mpg file. Thoughts on a solution will be appreciated. Thanks, Michael

How does Nero OEM tell what drive you have? by Chip
I am told that Nero OEM only works with the drive it was sold with. But I have flashed my MSI CR32-A2 with Optorite CW5205 firmware, so the drive is - in effect - now an Optorite drive. It shows up as such in Windows, CDSpeed, Infotool, Sandra, etc etc. But Nero Burning Rom still works! I would...

Photo's to CD by James R. Lunsford
I have a bunch of photos that I'd like to burn to a cd. I'd like to also put some sort of viewing program in it that's fairly easy to use. I want to make copies of the cd's for older, less computer literate family member and I'd like them to be able to pop the cd in and look at the pictures...

OK, I Know What is the best media..... How do I tell before buying? by HiTechLuddite
I was told in this group that Taiyo Muden makes the best CDR media. While shopping for new blanks the other day I looked at all the packaging and found no reference on any of it as to who made it. The best I could do was made in Japan or Taiwan or Malaysia. I looked at the discs for a manf code and...

[comp.publish.cdrom] CD-Recordable FAQ -- pointer by Andy McFadden
This is not the CD-Recordable Frequently Asked Questions posting, but rather a pointer to it. I'm posting this because there may be propagation problems with the FAQ (it's rather large for a Usenet posting), and some sites have automatic filters that think it's spam. This is also going out to...
