Has anyone successfully used UDF format over a long period of time? by Hans C
I use DirectCd for more than 4 years without losing a single file. But ... I never delete or overwite files on the cd-rw. I only add updated data files with different dates in the filename. On Fri, 28 Jan 2005 08:10:05 -0600, wrote: I keep hearing nothing but negatives about UDF....

How fast is a 4X DVD? by dgk
Does the X refer to the same X that a CDR refers to? In other words, burning a CDR at 40X will burn an 80 minute audio disc in 2 minutes or thereabouts. But I just read that an 8X DVD burns 4.7 gig in about 8 minutes. I would have figured that a 4X DVD would burn 80 minutes of audio in 20 minutes...

Can't burn above 4x by Vinicio Ascone
Help? anyone? :) I've got a liteon cdrw(48xblabla), and I can't burn some brands of cds above 4x.(48x - 52x cds, ok?) The fact is that some brands write at 48x without any problem and some brands (forget quality issues) can't write above 4x. If I try write any other speed but 4x, the burns aborts...

If I try to burn a file of 700MB to a 700MB CD version 6.0.0.15 tells me there is insufficient space. If I burn the same file using version 6.0.0.11 then it burns without problem. Have sent message to Nero re above and await their reply. Will post reply when/if received. eel

Burning text and graphics onto bottom of a CD by [email protected]
Anyone remember a few years ago there was software that would let you burn images or text onto the free space of a CDR so when you looked at the bottom of the disk you could see them? What happened to this software? I have looked all over the place and can not find even a single reference to...

If I download an image file for the MAC with a .sit extention, can I use my PC to burn it for the MAC by Steven B.
Hi all, I have a image file of a MAC program that is a .sit file. My question is, can I somehow get this file burned to CDR using my PC so that the MAC can install the program from the CD? Ideally I'd like to completely create the Program CD on the PC so that the MAC can then use it immediately,...

Do I want 32X CDRW media? by mike
I bought a liteON 52/32/52 drive. I can't find any (locally) RW media faster than 24X. In researching, it appears that the 32x media is fundamentally different from 24x and down. And it seems that the 32x stuff is largely untested in the real world. Is the 24x stuff any better in terms of...

Does EZCDCreator prevent CD-text from being copied to minidiscs? by Ray Kostanty
My friend is using his Sony MXD-D40 (consists of a CD player and a mini recorder in one unit) to copy CD-Rs containing songs (cda, not mp3) and CD-text (that identifies each track and artist) to a MD. The songs copy okay, but the text doesn't. A message appears saying something about being...

Are there colored books for DVD too? by Ben Peddell
Sandy wrote: Are there colored books for DVD standards? Just as there are colored books for CDs? It appears that the DVD standard is much simpler than the CD standard. There is only one sector size - 2048 bytes - and the DVD is written and read in blocks of 16 sectors (32768 bytes)
