Auto Slide Scanners by
john[_2_]
I want to scan a bunch of family slides. The Nikon 5000ED scanner with
the SF-210 auto slide feeder retails for about $1500. Are there no
other brands? How does one find used ones that are reliable? Respond

auto-crop by
David
I have a Visioneer 6600 USB and Paperport 6.5. Plenty for my use. But
is there any way to adjust the auto-crop feature in Paperport? I find
that it encroches a few pixels around the edge making it difficult to
read some letters.
Thanks

Auto-straightening photo scans? by
Mark
I have scanned a large number of photos, which I now need to straighten
and crop. This is a tedious process to do by hand. In Paint Shop
Pro 7, I need to guess how much rotation is needed, apply the
rotation, re-guess and re-rotate as necessary to get the image straight,
then manually crop. Can...

Automatic color correction on scanned images by
CarlosWA
I am scanning several hundred old color photo slides and negatives. I
find that with APE it takes me a long time to correct the color and
brightness.
I found the following APE plug-in products which claim to do the job
automatically and offer trial downloads.
Digital ROC
iCorrect
ColorPilot

Hi all,
From time to time I'd like to scan 8.5 X 11 pages of B&W text to email.
What are some good settings to use for this, that will produce a nice
looking easily readable screen images, along with reasonable file sizes?
Thanks in advance,

Bad eyes, diopter? (and Vuescan) by
AAvK
I have diabetic neuropathy in my optic nerves, which is sugar crystals in there
and that messes-up eyesight. But glasses do work fine to correct my vision.
I seem to notice that my images (35 slides) look sharp under a loupe, then I
scan them and they come up fuzzy! My older 6x7 positives are...

Barcode Scanner with ADF by
Henry
Hi, I am looking for a solution to bulk scan barcodes on coupons. The
coupons are 105mm X 60mm and we receive them in batches of approximately 50.
I would ideally like a scanner that I could feed these coupons through a
document feeder and have the barcodes scanned as they pass through,
otherwise...

beginner question re compeye simplex by

My ex has given me her old scanner, it is a Compeye Simplex DM166M
flatbed scanner. She also gave me the CD of imaging software which I
believe was Ulead Photo Express (v2.0??) TWAIN software. But I lost the
CD in a house clearance - she said "not to worry, you can download it
off the net". But...

BENQ 2720 scanner by
Ian Hodge
I am looking for a film scanner to index my existing negative/slide
collection and new stuff. I don't plan on using the scanned images for
more than small prints, if at all. Can anyone comment on the merits of
the Benq scanner please? I know that it's a couple of years old now but
it appears cheap...

Benq 5000 Scanner by
Roy
Bought the Benq 5000 Scanner from eBuyer - probably a mistake as very cheap.
Some of the software is truely appalling - but the only thing that is very
bad is the fact that I cannot see how to define the "print area" used when
the print button is pressed on the front of the scanner. It auto picks...

Benq 620U Color Changes by
Jim Sladek
I have recently noticed that the images resulting from scans of color
pix seem to be color shifted. The majority of my scanning has been grey
scale, so the color shifting may have been occurring longer that it
seems. Color rebalance brings the true colors closer but not really
correct.
Is...

Best color photo and ADF scanner by
[email protected]
I'm looking to buy a new scanner that can handle color photos and has a
document feeder to create PDFs. Can anyone recommend a moderately
priced machine that can handle both well? Looked online at HP 5590c and
5550c but both got bad user reviews.
Thanks!

I have a flatbed scanner, USB2, Epson brand. I am scannning all my

Scans look OK on the computer screen, but what if I someday want to
get a new color print made from one of the TIFF files? I can select a
