I need an external SATA USB2 enclosure for a 1 TB hard drive that uses the same power supply as Venus. In the past few years I have been happy with Venus enclosures and already own several for my 6 existing drives (200-500 GB). Now I am shopping for a 1 TB drive and would prefer to put it...

Does XP 32 bit support eSATA by Ato_Zee
I've a P5VD2-X mobo with OS caddy. 64 bit XP Pro, eSATA off SATA mobo header hot swaps. 32 bit XP Pro, same PC, eSATA off same SATA mobo header doesn't hot swap. So obviously the mobo supports hot swapping.

can't eject usb drive by Tom Del Rosso[_3_]
Curious... Sometimes I try to eject my USB drive and I get "can't be stopped right now". Filemon says nothing is accessing it. The condition persists, until I run a chkdsk which says "no problem". Then it ejects with no problem. Any idea what would cause that? The drive had not been accessed...

I am a home user on XP pro and have accumulated about 10 hard drives. Mostly IDE, some SATA. My PROBLEM is that I would like to have 6 or 7 of these online. I only know straightforward PC hardware such as my desktop system that has room for a few hard drives. So my solution was to get a new...
