Yesterday, someone successfully outbid me ( and others ) ($88.77) for a Packard Bell Corner Computer on eBay. Congratulations. Although I was really hoping for my fourth machine, it's good to see it probably went to a worthy person. ( At least they had to pay for it. :-) ) I hope they...

Packard Bell PB420 motherboard - BIOS error "cannot read/write to CMOS" by [email protected]
Hello all, I am working on an old Packard Bell for my grandmother. When I try to start it, it gives a 1-1-3 BIOS beep code which, according to the Phoenix BIOS code page, denotes a CMOS read/write failure. Is there any way to reset the CMOS so that I can get it to boot? Thanks,

Spoke to one of HPs Road Warriors today. Helped him get set-up for some sales event on the road and what not. He (an reportedly his coworkers) are really happy with their brand new HP laptops. No surprise there, given every sales guy loves a new toy, but the when I asked about the OS, it wasn't...

Legend 402CD by Ben Myers[_2_]
Rescued an incomplete desktop Legend 402CD at the town transfer station (that's the New England euphamism for town dump) today. No CPU, but memory. Case incomplete, so pretty useless. Any interest in some of the parts at the cost of scrap plus shipping? A quick look tells me this is an...
