HD for a MSI 6183 by
E.Martinez
Good day,
just wondered if anyone knew which size HD I can put on a
MSI 6183 mobo.
Just updated the bios to the last version (2000) and it says
it can handle 40 gig ones.
Will it take a bigger one (60 gig for instance).
No info on the MSI site.
Thanks in advance for any help
Regards

Multiple KVM switches by
Ken Briscoe
Hi all,
I have a few computers set up here in one room. My main computer, a "test"
machine, and I was just given a couple low-end PCs. I was considering
turning one of them into a media PC. Basically, it would just be a server
that held all my media. I'd play the music or video over the network...

PSU Fan Replacement w/o Soldering by
Michael J. Apollyon
I plan on getting a new PSU fan and I'd like to avoid
doing any soldering, so I'm thinking about connecting
it to the motherboard, but I'm worried about leaving
the 2 pins on the PSU molex fan connector open and bare
because I fear that eventually dust would accumulate
and short the...

Help. No power to new custom made pc by
Mike Budden
Hi. I just spent $500 to buy new parts to put together a new PC for myself.
I hooked everything up, double checked all the cables before I turned her
on, and hit the power button, and nothing happened. I checked the cables
again, including the main power cable and the outlet. It all seems fine....

GA-7DX Motherboard, Athlon 1.33GHz, 512MB of 2100 DDR-SDRam and Win2000.
A few months ago my Keyboard stopped working, I think first intermittently
with beeping noises from the systems speaker. I soon found out that the...

Which is better: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ or Intel Pentium 2 GHz? by
KC Computers
I'm creating a new PC - I'd like to find out which
CPU will give better performance in a PC used for
digital video editing:
An AMD Athlon XP 1800+ or an Intel Pentium 2GHz?
A P-4 2.0GHz CPU is slightly faster than an Athlon XP 1800+. An XP 2000+
is about the same speed for less...

What is a QVL memory table by
ljg
I am going to get a ASUS A7N8X delux motherboard and they give this
QVL table in the specs. I assume that is workable system memory for
this board. Is that correct?
Also, the table lists DDR400 and DDR333...since I am going to get an
AMD ATHLON XP 2800 "Barton" 333 FSB...I assume I need DDR333...

Hi all,
I have a pc that died. I thought it was the processor (PII) so I replaced it. It's a non national brand.

flat screen monitor
I turn on the power and it doesn't even identify that there is a floppy drive. The number led doesn't light on...

Bowser
Well, I installed the Zallman 7000Cu CPU fan and cooler, the heavy one, and
it fits and works fine. Yeah, it's heavy, but I don't believe it will be a
problem unless the PC is bounced around, like during a move.
I also installed a Seasonic 400W PS, and the combination made a huge
difference. The...
