Hallo,
ich suche mehrere 44 polige Pfostenstecker für 2.5 Zoll
Notebook-Festplatten, wenn möglich mit Flachbandkabel zum Anschluss
von 2 Notebook-HDs an bzw. in einem Laptop.
Das Kabel schaut dann aus wie die Standard-3.5 Zoll IDE-Kabel mit 2.5

Terminator for 80-wire IDE lead to prevent BIOS problem? by
John Smith
I often move my hard drives around between my home PCs. I use 80-conductor
ribbon leads. All my hard drives are configured for Cable Select.
When I have two hard drives on my primary IDE port and I remove the one at
the far end then my BIOS recognises the drive in the middle but then it
stops...

What is a good util to copy non-system partition to new drive ? by
Peter
OS: Win2000
I have a 170GB partition and want to copy it to a new 200 GB drive.
I have tried Partition Magic 7 and although it appears capable it
demands that the PC is restarted and then stops at the Windows Startup
DOS style progress bar, somewhere close to the end.
I am pretty sure this is a...

The driver, located on the mobo's CD, fails install (the entire
message is "failed"). BIOS settings to enable high-speed USB seem to
be correct. Running Win2k. Has anyone else seen this and found the
answer?

Recovering Data From a Damaged Hard Drive by
Larry
I thoughtlessly smoked my wife's friend's HD by reversing the power
plug to the drive. (Don't ask how!) Although I have reached geezerhood
status, I still
do stupid things.
A friend suggested I might salvage the
drive by getting a duplicate drive and swapping the drive boards -
maybe the HD drive...

ARAID 99 1000L by
Mark
Does anyone here, by any chance, have experience with the ARAID 99 1000L?
Specifically, how to obtain the status of the array (I'm using it in
FreeBSD). As usual, it comes with Windoze SNMP stuff, but nada for UNIX.
Thanks,
- Mark

Western Digital 160 Gig HD Won't Enable DMA 100 by
Larry R Harrison Jr
I have a Western Digital 160 gigabyte, 8 megabyte buffer--hooked to an Abit
KD7 motherboard. In the BIOS, I see NOTHING that specifies whether Ultra DMA
is enabled.
In Windows under Device Manager and IDE Channels, there IS NOT an "advanced
settings" for this either. Note: there was earlier, but a...

Drive Image 2002 Imaging problems by
Joe Ready
I bought Drive Image 2002 about two years ago to copy a HDD for an
upgrade. Shortly after successfully cloning the drive I was able to
achieve one image to CD/RW media. Since this time, I have never been
able to successfully complete an image again. This would be mostly
academic except that I am...

Help - Hard Disk causing constant hangs in XP by

I'm running a Maxtor 250GB SATA disk in a Shuttle XPC barebones case.
The last week or two my machine (running XP with all critical updates

I have a 20GB C: partition and the rest as the D: drive.
I think the D: drive is flaky, as the...

Is there a "complete" means of backing up? by
RB
Hello -
Wondered if anyone could tell me if there's some means of making a
complete nightly image of a drive, so that in the event of a crash on
the main drive, the backup is ready to go, with absolutely no need for
application installation, drivers, etc?

Automated backup drive housekeeping for TrueImage (or other) software by

One of the things that TrueImage is currently lacking is some sort of
automated "housekeeping" routine for the created images. For example,
let's say you have a scheduled incremental backup that runs once a week
and creates images on your D: drive. Well, unless you keep up with
deleting old...
