intel d865gbf suspend-to-ram or "instantly on PC" by
[email protected]
Hello,
I am having an issue with stand-by or suspend-to-ram or the "instantly
on PC" feature on the intel d865gbf.
I have enabled S1 in the BIOS, but when I go into stand by in Windows
XP my fans still stay on, which defeats most of the purpose of
suspend-to-ram.

Pentium 4 with wrong driver? by
[email protected]
Hi
I have a Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz 540J Processor running on an D925XECV2 Intel
Desktop Board with 1Gb RAM.
The problem is that the computer is slow for some reason and I have
since found that the Pentium 4 processor has a Microsoft Driver from
5.2 ..... from the year 2002 assigned to it. I believe...

Speaker Connector on Intel D945PSN? by
Dave
Building a system around an Intel D945PSN MoBo and I am unable to find a
reference to where the wire for the internal speaker connects.
Right now I cannot get the system to P.O.S.T. so if I can find the
speaker hookup I will with any luck at least get a POST code to help me
to troubleshoot the...

I have a 478 pin Prescott 3.06GHz CPU. I'm putting it into an ASUS

dont know if it supports a FSB of 800 or not. Its in an intel MB now

INTEL CENTRINO DUO? by
[email protected]
I'm curious. My friend just bought the Acer Travelmate 8204, or
somethin like that, with the new intel chip in it. It is dual core, is
it not? Doesn't this make it 64-bit technically, but currently it is
only running 32-bit stuff? But, we both play Half-Life 2 based games,
and Valve, the company...

Intel contact for IXB2800 by
[email protected]
Hi,
I'm trying, without much success, to find a contact at Intel in the UK
who would know about their IXB2800 network processor boards.
Specifically, I'd like to arrange for someone to visit and talk to us
about them. So far, nobody there seems at all familiar with them.
If anyone can point me to...

HP the only remaining 8-way Xeon vendor by
Siddhartha Jain
Dell doesn't have any 8-way Xeon servers. IBM had x445 (not the x455
which is a 4-way Itanium server) that scaled to eight Xeon servers but
that seems to have been pulled out. The IBM x460 is some sortof 4-way x
8 stack that I am not ready to trust yet. So now HP is the only vendor
with a vanilla...

passive cooling never enough for Celeron M? by
Dan Jacobson
Is it true that with my Thinkpad R50e 1834NV1 Celeron M 1.40GHz, my
ears will never depart the fan for more than 90 seconds, during its
54-62 degree temperature cycling?
"L" == Laurent Gilson in linux-thinkpad writes:

MMX Copy by
[email protected]
Hi All,
I am performing a performance analysis on memory copy using memcpy
function and MMX method. I found out this interesting observation:
MMX has less performance compared with memcpy function when I am
copying small data of size less than 1MB. But when I copy a size
greater than 1MB, MMX has...

945mb and 930 cpu by
Josh
Looking at building new system, thinking about the 930 cpu and an
Intel 945 board, probably the D945PVSLKR.
Few quick questions,
Is the 930 less "hot" than the 830? I've seen a lot of posts from
people who say they had to buy third party cpu fans, because the 830
ran too hot.
I've also seen...
