Core architecture derived from...? by
Peter Bjørn Perlsø
A friend of mine claimed that with the demise of the P4 NetBurst
architecture, Intel went back to useing a tweaked P!!! core for their
Core designs.
Is that true?
If so, what has been tweaked since then?

Intel Quad Core Caters to PC Gamers by
chrisv
http://www.edn.com/article/CA6395573.html
Funny that Intel's demo system used but a single Nvidia card - their
mobo does not support Nvidia in SLI mode, but DOES support ATI in SLI
mode. I wonder why they chose Nvidia? 8)

Coolers for Core2 E6700 by
General Schvantzkoph
I'm about to put together a E6700 Core2 system as a compute server, both
cores will be under heavy load for long periods of time, I won't be
overclocking. Is the stock Intel cooler adequate or should I use a better
cooler?

Prot88
Hi,
I need to power up an old server (mandrake 7). I have already upgraded
it from P4 1,5 Ghz to P4 3,2 Ghz with success.
Now, Processors are based on multi-core technology and my old kernel is
not multiprocessor.
For different reasons, I don't want (if it is possible) change anything
on this...

Hi everyone,
I just bought a core 2 duo 1.86 with a board by ECS that allows you to use
DDR1 and AGP (for us poor *******s that can't afford new memory and video
cards) and I know this is supposed to be a great overclocker, I am sure
however I am limited with overclocking by my memory.(but I...

Intel Extreme onboard integrated graphics: can be used with VGA/PCIboard? by
Intel Guy
Since there is no Intel-oriented video card group, this is the next
best thing.
My question pertains to a Soyo motherboard (SY-P4I845PE/GVISA Plus)
with Intel 845PE/GV chipset. I believe this chipset has an integrated
video controller with 8 mb of video memory (this component seems to be
called...

Functional Redundancy Checking by
Brendan
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can give me a rough idea of how many systems
use Functional Redundancy Checking with Intel CPUs, and what sorts of
systems they are.
For example, is FRC used by Intel's internal quality control only, or
is it used by some (rare) special purpose systems (aviation?), or...

This'll sound like kid's stuff to you experts, but it's important to me that
I get the right answer cuz I am technologically "challenged".
I want a decent PC but don;t want to spend a fortune.
I was going to go for a 1.86GHz E6300 Core 2 Duo, but saw a 3.2 GHz P4 HT
system and wondered if I'd...
