HP4M manual feed tray won't shut/open properly by
Dan_Musicant
I've had this printer over 10 years - bought it used from a guy who
swore it had only printed about 20 prints. He's probably right. It was
"as new."
Never had a problem with it I couldn't fix - basically just paper jams
and similar. Never had it serviced in any way. Only used maybe 6-7...

HP 5510 all-in-one Fax setup - alternative? by
Roger Taylor
My 5510 All In One printer/fax manual says I cannot share a fax and phone
line, as long as I have my answering mach phone hooked up in an adjacent
room, where it is more convenient; it has to be wired directly into the wall
via the fax machine, and cannot be in a separate room.
Folks have had...

been processed and I would be receiving it soon.

Help with Lexmark 5250 printer in Linux by
Maxwell Hammer
Hello All,
I have a Lexmark 5250 All-In-One printer. It came bundled with a laptop I bought
recently. I thought that it would be supported as the HP's are, but alas they
are not.
Lexmark makes available a developer's kit to write Linux drivers, but no
actual drivers for Linux (I tried to write a...

Dead Epson; on the market for new printer by
Stephan Carydakis
Hi All,
I have recently had a bad experience with an Epson printer. Its a Photo
Stylus 915 I purchased about 20 months ago. About 3 months ago I changed the
colour cartridge(genuine) for the first time and it wouldn't print any
yellow. I did the recommended things - multiple clean cycles etc. I...

Canon rebates: Warning. Not recieving mine by
measekite
Yeh, I think there ought to be a law that all rebates should be instant
at the check stand rebates.
At the same time they need to regulate the 3rdparty ink industry. At
least they should have a full disclosure law.

Epson CX5200 Clogged Heads? by
Bruce
I've got an Epson CX5200 multifunction printer. It's worked great since
I got it 1.5 years ago. I use Epson inks, never let it run dry, and keep
it on all the time.
Yesterday, my wife printed about six greeting cards, and they all printed
very nice. This morning, I noticed that my kids...

Laserjets - Media Types by
[email protected]
I have just bought an Epson Aculaser C1100 and a couple of cautionary
warnings interest me:
1) We are advised against using "coated inkjet media". Does anyone know
why? I have a ton of the stuff from my abandoned inkjets.
2) I heard years ago it was inadvisable to print on one side of the
paper in...

All-in-One units with slide scanning by
GuessWho
I'm looking to replace my scanner because the quality of the scans have been
very bad lately.
I know the AIO units usually don't do everything well, but I don't need
anything professional; just something that gives acceptable reproductions.
As an example, my HP 720C printer gives text quality that...

iP Pixma 1500 by
JimL
I just bought this $50 printer, which was free with rebate, from
Fry's along with my $99 linspire computer..
Getting a free printer doesn't do much my confidence in it. What's
the skinny? Should I dump it on ebay?

Can I network Pixma ip4000? by
Gelf
I'm trying to connect my new ip4000 to my home network using an HP
jetdirect 175x usb wired print server.
The printer is recognised by the HP install printer wizard, though
sometimes as unknown. It appears to install correctly but won't print.
I get a pop-up message "The print spooler was unable to...

HP Deskjet 6540dt Printer. Should I buy? by
Jack
All the specs are right, but this may be old technology.
I need fast copy, duplex printing for business use, but I also need good
photo quality for personal use.
Thanks in advance for any input.

i9900 and Pixma8500 - opinions please by
Wolf Kirchmeir
The vendors' websites aren't very helpful - they all reprint Canon's
bumf. My question comes down to this:
Is the Pixma 8500 basically a smaller version of the i9900? They both
have 8 tanks, both are 4800x2400 dpi, etc. Main difference sesm to be
that i9900 can print 13'x19' images.
Any...
