Installing Hercules Fortismo sound card on XP by
Jason Tsang
You can simulate a disconnection from the internet by removing your gateway
ip from your ethernet adapter responsible for your internet access (assuming
you have an internet connection that is always up, i.e. connection through a
nic).
After that you should be able to install the drivers on that...

Which sound card for a legacy-only DOS computer? by
Io
George Adams wrote:
Thanks VERY much to everyone who replied! I decided to go with a non-PnP
AWE32 (CT2760) after finding *one* online store that was selling it (not
even eBay had 'em!) If that doesn't work, I'll try a sure-enough SB16
(looks like there's tons of models of 'em though -...

A problem with two sound cards by
Ofir Azoulay
Hi,
To a Windows XP PC with a new sound blaster, which does not have a
game port, I've added an old sound blaster - one that has a game port,
so now I can use my joystick.
At the moment, the two cards cannot work in parallel - they work when
only one of them is disabled.
My aim is as follows:

Dolby Digital sound through coaxial digital SPDIF output from SB Live? by
Andrew Widgery
Firstly, apologies for the cross-post - I wasn't sure where to post.
I am about to buy a Dolby Digital receiver which has both coaxial and
optical digital inputs for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. I am
wondering, if I hook this up to my SB Live 5.1 card, using the digital out,
will I get...

I am using Creative Play Centre 2 V1.01.71.0 software
with my SB Live 1024 board on an ME system.
Recently I get an error message when I open Play
Center2 to the effect that it
"Cannot initialise MediaDet's COM object".
This does not prevent the playing of MP3 files
from my HD but it does cause

Need help with Awe64 in DOS CTSB16.SYS - invalid "/BLASTER=A:XXX"ARGUMENT by
Kurt Wyco
System is an Athlon 750 MHz, 384 megs ram, Win98
I need some help. I bought a Sound Blaster Awe64 ISA PnP card off someone for
older DOS games. Windows works fine with the card. And I was able to get the
DOS Diagnose.exe utility to play all of the test music and sounds in DOS.
Here's what...

Audigy Platinum Won't Record From Mic & MIDI by
Mike Austin
It's worked fine for a year. I record vocals and acoustic guitar in Sonar 2
on Win XP Pro.
Suddenly I can't record anything from the microphone. I restored my OS from
an image to a time when the Audigy worked fine, but it made no difference so
I don't think it's a software problem.
The record...

What does my old SB Live! Platinum support for EAX version? by
[email protected]
I have an old Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! Platinum (LiveDrive
not installed) from early year 2000. Can I use EAX 3.0 with my old
sound card? If not, then how high can I go for EAX support? I am using
Windows XP Professional SP1 with all updates and the latest drivers.
Thank you in advance....

Is there an alternative control panel for sound levels adjustment? by
Ian Roberts
Hi
I would love to have a digital display of the various level settings.
I find the sliders on the standard windows interface give a rather coarse
adjustment and the position is somewhat arbitrary.
Just wondered if there are any alternative control panels?
Hope so!

Ews64XL e microphone by

Someone has used this audio card and it knows to advise to me in
order to listen directly in the cases while I speak to the
microphone? With the SoundBlaster it was simplest but with this I do
not succeed to us.

Dummy sound drivers for win2k? by
Willy Kreim
Hi,
Is there any "Dummy sound driver" for windows?. I need to run an
applcation that checks for the presence of a sound card, and refuses
to run if there is none. The program can be fully functional without a
soundcard... I'd just need a driver that discards all sound output.
There are some for...
