Vista Beta2 w/D875PBZ mobo - do I install the INF update? by
Russell
I installed Vista Beta2 on a spare HD to play with it and it seems to be working
fine (for a Beta). Should I install the motherboard INF update from the CD that
came with my Intel D875PBZ mobo? Or does Vista already know everything it needs
to know about this older board's features?
Thanks,...

Another Dell laptop blows its top by

A Tom's hardware reader took some pictures of the latest Dell laptop to
blow up. He said that when the guy who owned the laptop heard the fire
alarm, he was about to go and pack up his laptop and take it out with
him, before he knew it was his laptop causing the fire. :-)
Dude, your Dell just...

Intel CPU by
mehdi_mousavi
Hi folks,
1. What's the difference between "Pentium D" and "Xeon"?
2. On up to what speed each of which can handle?
3. Does Windows XP (and the new incoming VISTA) support them? By
supporting I mean they use the full functionality of each CPU.
Any help would be highly appreciated,
TIA,

Max CPU? by
Neil Barras
Hey all,
I'm looking at buying an IBM NetVista M41 Type 6792, and was wondering what
the maximum CPU was? The ones I have been looking at have either 1.6 or 1.8
P4s, running with a 400fsb on the 845 chipset. I would like to be able to
get a faster cpu in, preferrably 2.4GHz or...

Does Core Duo 2 support FSB 1066? by
Nobody
I've seen both yes and no for whether the Core Duo 2 (NON-extreme versions)
support FSB 1066?? NOT overclocked.
But to my knowledge, the P965 chipsets only supports DDR2 800?? Am I
confusing the two? I thought if I had a FSB1066, I should run DDR2 1066?
which appears to currently cost close to...

975X vs. 965 chipset? by
Nobody
Which of these is going to be better for the Core Duo chips? The 975X has
been out forever, and the 965 just came out. The only real difference I see
is that the 965 supports SATA II? Is that the only difference? Is there
going to be a revision of the 975X? Kind of weird if a lower number is...
