Two drives on secondary IDE channel cable select, primary 20GB WD,
secondary 8GB WD. Both tested ok using WD DLG. No smart errors. Both
defragged.

I have a PS/2 Kinesis contoured keyboard, but the latest laptop I've
been assigned is an IBM thinkpad T43 and it has no PS/2 port, only two
USB ports. I bought a PS/2 to USB adapter and it works for the most
part, allowing me to use my external keyboard. However, I am no longer

A loose cable jammed the CPU cooling fan (a Zalman). After a few minutes of
running the pc shut down. Few minutes later (after fixing the problem) the
computer ran OK with no apparent problems. The CPU is a 3.2 Ghz Intel. Am I in
the clear? Few days have passed without problems. I've ran Memtest...

drives and can be connected...

Loss of Sound-Recording Capability - Solution Found by
Andy
To All Yea Helpful Souls,
The Advanced Controls for the Microphone has a +20 db boost option that I
had enabled. It caused no problems with the old motherboard. When the tech
disabled it, the recording capability got restored.
Thanks to all those who took the time to help me.
