DVD Burning 8x is Slow by
[email protected]
I have a Liteon SOHW-1673S DVD Burner.
Burning at 4x is fine, and takes about 12mins.
On 8x it is taking about the same amount of time maybe a minute
quicker. It seems the buffer level in nero is emptying too quickly
therefore making the writer pause for more data.
I am using sony media; I think...

Path length finder by
KiwiBrian
Is there a program that I can point at a folder/file hierarchy prior to
burning with Nero that will flag any path lengths that exceed the allowable
limit?
What is the allowable limit?
Thanks

David B
I need a software package that allows me to do the following:
1. Burn MP3 and JPGs to a CD that can then be accessed via explorer.
2. I want to be able to play and view the data on the CD without
extracting from the CD.
Any suggestions. I have tried Easy DVD/CD Burner but this requires
that the...

Verbatim disks by
Phil
I believe some recent problems in Audio and data recordings may be
attributable to these disks being low quality.
Nero scandisks give the green light to them, and they rate out at 10 in
the Nero test. But I seem to have some fuzzy sound in one, like bad
speakers, It starts at track23 of 25 so to...

Slow DAE speed with Asus DVD-E616P by
Seymour
Using Exact Audio Copy in secure mode to extract audio with this drive, i
only achieve 3x speed. When detecting the read features of the drive it
says that it has caching: yes, accurate stream: yes, c2 error info: no.
Looking at the cdspeed2000 homepage the E616 model has close to 20x in DAE
speed....

Confusion about the model name of my CD-RW drive... by
KILOWATT
Hi...thanks for your time.
I have the CRX-140E from Sony bought in october 2000. I'm searching at that
site
http://sony.storagesupport.com/cdrw/index.htm
for a firmware update but i've noticed that in the drop down menu, the only
models shown have the suffix ch or ch2. Mine is simply CRX-140E. Do...

I recently got a Memorex BBQ 200 cdrw and it said on the Quick start
doc that it attaches to a Mac and a Windows platform just by plugging
in. Also with it was a flyer saying you need minimum W98 SP2. I
plugged the cdrw in but found while I can read preformatted CD's ok I
can't recognise...

Lite-On LTD-16x media compatibility by
Jonathan
Hi,
I've been shopping for a DVD-ROM drive and have been impressed with the
performance and price of the Lite-On DVD readers.
I was looking at the specs for models LTD-163, LTD-165, and LTD-166 and all
say they support DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW but they do NOT list DVD+R.
Will they read DVD+R...

newbie cd writer question by
jeff house
I've just got a computer that has a Pentium MMX 200 megahertz CPU, 128
megabytes of RAM and 3 gigabytes of disc space.
I really want it for copying music CD's, but I've been told that the
machine just doesn't have a high enough specification to take a CD
writer. Is this true?
I don't care how...

Skips in Audio CD's by
Fubar1000
I have a Plextor 24/10/40A using Nero 5.5 . Often when I make audio CD's
I'll have maybe one or two skips on the CD. Not bad, but I'm just wondering
what could be causing it.I use good media and have nothing running in the
background when I burn.

Burner buy by
[email protected]
I correspond by e-mail from the UK to an old couple in Connecticut.
The haven't a CD burner and seem to think it would be expensive.
Would anyone be prepared to advise me on inexpensive stores and/or CD
writers that would be available in that area?
Best wishes
Colin

Roxio's prob with ~!@#$ by
PCportinc
it appears Roxio's DirectCD has beef with ~!@#$%^&*()-+|
any files which include those characters burn fine but when I close
to read on all cd-roms, it tells me to change ex: + or - to _
Nero did not have that problem.

Cars and CDRs by
NewsGroupie
I burn CDs at 4X but guilty of leaving burned CDs in my car. During
playback, the car CD player produces ticking, hissing, then finally
play-stoppage. It appears using cheap blank CDRs and cars is a no-no. I do
not however, want to cart burnt CDRs from my car. Ok - YES, shame on me.
Will the...
