RW packet writing software that works with Windows AND Linux? by
Karl Self
I have a CD/DVD burner which can handle CD-RW, DVD-RW and DVD+RW
media, but neither Mount Rainier nor DVD-RAM. So far I have managed
to do packet writing (i. e. writing to a RW medium as if it were a
hard disk) using Nero InCD, but those disks then couldn't be read on
my Linux box (Xubuntu...

[comp.publish.cdrom] CD-Recordable FAQ -- pointer by
Andy McFadden
This is not the CD-Recordable Frequently Asked Questions posting, but
rather a pointer to it. I'm posting this because there may be propagation
problems with the FAQ (it's rather large for a Usenet posting), and some
sites have automatic filters that think it's spam. This is also going
out to...

Hi
I was wondering if someone could explain in simple terms how to put in gaps
between tracks in a downloaded album.
I have a 60mb album which I have downloaded, which has about 10 tracks.
I have Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, which offers the track splitting
facility, but I have NO clue how to use...

Nero 5.5.10.54 & EAC song-naming question by
K2
I just updated Nero 5.5.9.17 to version 5.5.10.54. Now, when I make
audio CDs with CD-text, some tracks in the compilation window get one
or more words in their filenames stripped and put under "Artist"
instead of "Title."
Example: Before the update, what used to be "This Is A Song Title"...

Audio CD-RWs? by
Nikos Chantziaras
I just burned a CD-RW medium as an Audio CD. Yes, I know that they can't be
used on CD players. But I thought that playing them back on the PC's CD-ROM
drive would be OK. Well, it isn't. My question is simple: Why is that?
Not even the drive I used for burning is able to play it back.
Note: It...

Weren't these guys taken to court and told to stop selling their DVD

Don't stack cdrs? by
The Chronic
I remember reading this, but I don't remember why you shouldn't stack cdrs,
or if it's really that important. To save space, I tend to stack up burned
cdrs in old spindle cases. I use jewel cases for the cdrs I use more often,
but I stack those up in a pile also. Is this bad practice? Is there...

Premium GigaRec in Nero by
SleeperMan
I've read somewhere that if i enable GigaRec in Plextools Pro, i can record
such CDR in any recording software, like Nero. Why then i get error 'burning
failed' if i do that? If i burn GigaRec enabled CDR with Plextools, it's OK.

Upside down backward by
Michael G
Attempting to burn a avi movie to a cdr with Nero 5.5. Some of the
time the movie is recorded upside down backward. But not all avi
files. The file in question plays correctly from the HDD.
So far never effects an mpg file.
Thoughts on a solution will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
