You may want to check your bios settings to make sure USB is turned on. If it isn't your OS will never "see" the USB hardware to address it. I have a Compaq desktop that I hooked an MP3 player to via the USB port and I had to turn it on in the bios in order for it to work.

Very true. If the phone only supports USB 2.0 and your computer is only USB 1.1 or 1.0...then that could be the case as well. Believe that most current phones support 2.0 and 1.1..but not 1.0?? JLA
