Spontaneous Shutdown/Reboot by
SC Tom
Recently (within the last couple of months), I have been having sporadic,
spontaneous shutdowns or reboots. The PC is only about 18 months old, and I
have made no changes to it in the last year or so. When it shuts down, I can
restart it without waiting; it starts up fine and immediately.
There...

FYI - follow up to my old thread micro-USB problem by
Yes[_2_]
FYI - OK, I found out more about the micro-USB connectors. I talked
with LG Electronics Service department about the problem I had. The
smartphone I have has a micro-USB size B port. The Canon digital
camera has a size A port and therefore are not compatible with each
other. The LG rep also...

failures on boot by
John B. Smith
My aging 2008 home built is acting up again. I'm afraid it may be
headed for the morgue. It will stop with a 'C1' code during the boot
on the BIOS display. This is defined as:
Auto detect of dram size type & ECC
Auto detect of L2 cache (socket 7 or below
That is, it will run the BIOS to...

Are manufacturers playing games with us - again?

plug in USB drive = reboot by
[email protected]
I transferred a Gigglebite H61 mainboard to an old Antec Lanboy case.
All was fine until I plugged a thumb drive into front panel - PC
rebooted! I guess the 5V line was shorted out.
Now the the front panel cable in the Lanboy is marked, and the
wiring agrees with the mainboard F_USB1 pins.
I tried...

Jesus what a bunch of morons!

Now in a few years when you need to buy a new hard drive, you will have
to buy a new power-supply to go along with it.
