PHILIPS CDRW2412A and Microsoft XP problems by
[email protected]
Hi all, I recently got a trash comp that I took the Philips CDRW2412A
from to put into my computer. XP says that the drive is working fine
but I can't read or write to any discs whatsoever. I've combed the
internet to the best of my ability for alternate drivers but I've
failed miserably. ...

was home burned by an "amateur" on his PC.
The DVD+R has just one folder VIDEO_TS containing only
VOB, IFO and BUP files.
This DVD+R plays on home DVD player. It plays also with
Media Player Classic (MPC) on my old PC running...

I've got a friend's PC to fix and I installed his second hand burner.
It would read but it wouldn't write. F
First I tried to burn an image using Acronis True Image v9. It
wouldn't even start.
Then I tried the XP burning...

Pioneer DVD 106D and DVD+R data disks. Can't read them by
Mutley
Recently I got some Verbatim DVD+R disks by mistake. I normally use
-R disks. I decided to use some of these for data backups and they
recorded and verified OK. However today I went to take a file off
one and found that Windows 2K file manager could not see the disk. My
wife's laptop read the...

Enhanced Audio CD image by
Adam Atlas
Hi,
Does anyone know of a way I could prepare a disk image representing a
CD-EXTRA (the kind with both audio and data tracks) in a format at
least open enough that I could distribute the image and expect people
to be able to burn it without having to buy commercial software?
Could BIN/CUE work, if...

You have selected the ISO 9660 character set; instead, select the one
you prefer. One place to do that is when you begin and have the New
Compilation window. Choose...

Nero 6 Differential and Incremental BackItUp by
Neil
I know I could experiment with this, but I figure someone out there
already has the answer --
When doing a differential or incremental backup:
1. First, the full backup must be done.
2. When doing the first differential or incremental backup, select "Use
existing backup" and choose the full...

Making bootable cd-rom from a good bootable cd-rom? by
[email protected]
Hello,
I have a good bootable CD-Rom which includes nic drivers to ghost
desktops/laptops. It works fine and boots into the system with menus
for user interaction to ghost(clone the system), but i found out that
it didn't include
a particular nic driver for one desktop model.
Now this bootable...

WAV files size by
[email protected]
I burned 10 WAV files to a cd-r using Roxio dataCD project, but
it did not play on the cd player. They totalled 648mb.
However, burning the same files using musicCD project, I had over 100mb
and about 6min left, and it played in the cd player.
How did that happen if the number and total file size...

Does PC have to be unbusy to format UDF by
Dubious Dude
I know that burning in ISO9660 requires that the computer
be otherwise uninterrupted by the operation or presence
of other apps (e.g. by virus checkers, and even a
command-line window, which I found out about). What about
formatting UDF? Is all the brain power being done by the
CD writer, or must...

After using DirectCD, CD drive doesn't see UDF or ISO9660 discs by
Dubious Dude
I was using DirectCD fine for one day (first time using it). Now the
CD (ejected using "leaving as is") is not being seen by the Windows
file explorer nor by the command line window, even after refreshing
the view with F5 in the windows file explorer. I tried this first
upon login. I then...
