Could not perform fixation? by Princess Morgiah
Hi everyone, Some time ago I asked for some help on how to burn a 90 minute disc. I was able to burn the disc, but ever since I created that disc, I am stuck with the following error: could not perform fixation. The writer is a Plextor CD-R, PX-320a, and I am using Nero Burning Rom...

S/PDIF What is It? by Bruce
I've been converting LPs to .cda using a Technichs SL-1200M3D turntable. It has RCA outs that I connect to a pre-amp/mixer, which is connected to the line in of my sound card. It's been working fine. I was browsing around and saw a Stanton...

C1 and C2 errors by James Perrett
Daniel Prince wrote: My understanding is that if there are too many C1 errors on a CDR disc sector, I will get a C2 error and that if there are too many C2 errors I will get a DOS/Windows error. Is this correct? If it is correct, how many C1 errors are too many and how many C2 errors...

Lite On LTR40125S by lb
I have a Lite On LTR40125S which is 48X/40X/12X. I purchased some Memorex High speed CD-RW disks with recording speeds up to 12X. I am using Nero 5 as that is what came with the burner. I am able to erase these disks, but after what appears to have been a successful; write, it throws the Lite On...

Scientific data on optical medium longevity. by jardinero
Hey, people! For all of us concerned with the longevity of optical disks and the effects of dust, fingerprints, labels, etc. on them, download an excellent pdf file written on the subject. Scientists working on the Digital Preservation Program at the National Institute of Standards and...

Reliable DVD Burner by Edward Diener No Spam
I foolishly threw $40 away on a new Samsung DVD Writer that does not work. I stupidly bought an OEM version from NewEgg, rather than simply pay another $8-10 dollars for the retail version, and now it will probably take weeks for my to get a replacement from Samsung, if I can get any at all, and I...

Easy CD Creator = frustration by AndyHancock
OK, so it's old. Easy CD Creator 5. But, I thought, it's nothing fancy like a data backup. It is a simple disc-to-disc copy of a single-track audio CD (albeit filling up the entire CD). Roxio Easy CD Creator: Coaster Sony CD Extreme (also a venerable program): Works fine. Yes, I know, I know,...

How do I format a dvdrw to play in a dvd recorder by Bob H[_4_]
Sorry if this is the wrong NG to post this. I have searched google for this, but I'm no where near finding out how to format a dvdrw disc so as it plays in my dvd recorder. The recorder doesn't have the facility to format discs, so I thought nero would be able to do so, no it can't, only erase,...

The solution for my long file names problem. by John Corliss
My project consisted of getting 2 gb worth of .jpg, .txt and .doc files with really long names and complex (long names again) folder structures onto 4 CDRs. As suggested by Ric, I zipped all the files in my project into 4 big zip files, each about 500 mb. This preserves the long file names when the...

CD-R's by D. Lee
I've been using Mitsui CD-R blanks for a few years now, as I believe that they're probably the best brand of CD-R there is (they're supposed to last a long time instead of going bad after a few or several years), and I've never had any problems burning them and then playing them back on all my...
