AMD X2 4200+ question by
ABS
Does anyone know much about the AMD X2 4200+ vs other cpus? It is comming in
my new pc and I'm curious to read reviews on that card, but I've only seen
reviews for the 4800+ model of the X2. I'm curious how it will compare to my
current pc which has an AMD 64 3500+ and other comparable Intel chips...

AMD Nomenclature? by
Adjacent
OK, I can't find it on AMD's website, but someone has to know. I understand
that the higher numbers i.e. 2800, 3000, 3200, etc. are increasingly better,
but what does it mean. I see that most of these have the same clockspeeds,
but the higher numbers (2800,3200...) cost more, so they must be...

So, what advantages have you seen to running XP 64 bit? by
Advanced Primate
Boot time is a big factor for me. Unbeliveably fast compared to XP 32 which
I have installed on two other partitions (one as a backup).
Some games seem to run better or at least the same.
I suspect we won't see great advantages for at least the next year or so
until Xp 64 gains critical mass. ...

Good news for Owners of AM2+ /w SB600 by

Good Thuban Availabilty by
AGross
For the first time, an AMD CPU is available in my country (Romania) at
launch time and at comparable prices to other EU countries. There are
also directly available in most EU countries along with 890FX-based
motherboards.
Up until now, absolutely all AMD CPUs were almost 80E-100E more
expensive...
