CD/DVD printable printers by zakezuke
I can't talk about Plextor or others, but I note that Lite-On claims that their drives are exceptionally good with unbalanced disks. I have a hunch that they're right. The price is nice and low. No longer seeing any reason to buy the best professional brand, for my last two burner ...

Canon: ip4200 vs ip4300. by Gazza
Hi, I had decided upon buying a Canon PIXMA ip4200, but then discovered that Canon had (as of this month, UK) introduced the PIXMA ip4300. I found only one user-comparative reference to these printers (along with the ip5200) that was helpful, which said that the only difference between the three...

Canon: ip4200 vs ip4300. by zakezuke
I had looked on the UK Canon web site and done a side-by-side comparison of the ip4200, ip4300 and ip5200, but there seemed to be no difference between the ip4200 and ip4300 except for a couple of minor things like slightly increased printing speed on the ip4300 and the ip4300 can't print...

Resetting a C900 or C1900 Epson Laser photoconductor cartridge by sam small
In June 2005, I raised the matter of Epson's infamous negation of recycling with regard to the photoconductor unit in the C900, C1900 Laser series. Nobody seemed to know how to reset the unit. Well, the spirit of magna carta is not dead. Some bright spark has cracked it and is selling his...

An ink vender to avoid by TJ
I apologize for taking so long to bring this up, but it was tucked into the back recesses of my mind when I started frequenting this newsgroup, and didn't come back until a day or so ago. In late January 2004 I ordered a set of "remanufactured" ink cartridges and a set of Inktec refill kits for...

Different PCL tray select codes by [email protected]
Hi, We are using a progress application to print reports on a couple of HP Laserjet 5 si printers. These reports are not just straight forward reports; some pages are printed on blank paper, some on preprinted paper. In the application PCL codes are used to tell the printer which tray it must use...

OEM vs refill by CWatters
A lot has been said on this already but the two claims made against refills are that they fade and lead to clogged heads. Lets say you believe that for a moment... Most people do two types of printing.... 1) Letters and other text documents that need only last for a short time. 2) Photos and...

Canon: ip4200 vs ip4300. by zakezuke
What _are_ the differences between the ip4200 and ip4300? What is, in actual use, the ip4300 like compared to the ip4200? Thanks, in advance, for any help You know, the printers are too new to trully have any useful opinions out yet. But yes, the ip4200 was abandoned... and it looks...

Canon ip4200 low ink level warning by [email protected]
I'm pretty pleased with my Canon ip4200, apart from the price of consumables. I just got my first "ink is running low" message, for the cyan cartridge, and I have purchased a replacement. I want to get all the usable ink out of the cartridge, if that won't do ant harm to the print head. My question...

Anyone got an HP B9180? by Beemer
I'm considering buying an HP Photosmart Pro B9180 printer. I've read a few reviews and the manual but I would like an opinion from a user. To me this printer appears to good to be true. Also the spec says that it can print on hard media up to 1.5mm thick but can it print on a DVD? Beemer
