How long do notebook batteries last? I have a 1 year old Toshiba and it won't hold a charge at all. I have hardly used the battery itself, most of the time the laptop is plugged into a/c. Could this have shortened its lifespan? The web price for batteries is around $75...seems a little steep. ...

Getting full sound to work on Windows 98 by Patrick Reany
I recently installed an inexpensive Sound Blaster card into an ATX Windows 98 SE PC. I can get the Windows OS to play throught the sound card (the music played at bootup/logon time) and also DVD movies and games, but not music CD's. Anyone know what the problem might be? TIA Patrick
