Dvorak Likes Linux by

I've had it permanently installed on my desktop since version 5.10,
too. Meanwhile it's been permanently installed on my laptop since 8.10
(after I upgraded the disk to 160GB). I now find myself using mainly
Ubuntu on the laptop, but the desktop still needs a few apps running
on Windows -- that'll...

Luca
Hi all.

By cpuid instruction I observe that it is a set associative cache.
There is a way to know what block of cache will be used for each memory
address?
In PowerPc processor there is a manner to disable single way of cache so if
I leave only one way...

TMDS Protocol and Software by
[email protected]
Hello,
I have a question related to the DVI TMDS (Transition Minimized
Differential Signaling). I realize this has virtually nothing to do
with Intel --and I would appreciate it if you could direct me to a
more relevant forum with knowledgeable people on the issue-- but I
though that this...

Celeron E1400 comes with 3 wire fan by
Sylvia Else
Just to report my recent experience, as a warning to others.
I bought a Celeron E1400, to go into a an MM box. It's more than
powerful enough for the way I want to use it.
But I didn't see anywhere in the sales literature that it's bundled with
a 3 wire fan - that is, one that at least some...

Memory suggestions Gigabyte EP45-DS3L (DDR2 1333 / 1200 ???) by
Giga Guy
Ok, after all that **** with memtest 3.5, I'll be using memtest86+ 2.11
from now on.
What I've been testing so far are these:
Kingston KHX8500D2K2/4G
Kingston specs are 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2V, but they run really hot. I didn't
take them above 2.0v. I found it was stable at 6-6-6-16 at...

a gigabyte motherboard (EP45-DS3L) that as of yet I can't get any 4gb

Intel Matrix Storage Manager and DP45SG? by
Justin[_8_]
I just built a PC with the above board. After running all the updates,
I tried to install the Intel RAID console and I get an error saying the
driver it is trying to install is older then the one currently installed.
Does Intel have a newer application?

Memory suggestions Gigabyte EP45-DS3L (DDR2 1333 / 1200 ???) by
RonM
Cost aside, What would be a advantage of using either one of those
which are CL7 or CL6 (slower timings) but higher frequency
over DDR2 PC2 -6400 CL4 such as this:
(faster timings lower frequency)

Cache Flushing instructions by
Martin[_7_]
Hi
I am just wondering if the Intel instruction set includes (Dual Core)
an instruction that allows me to flush the INSTRUCTION cache in one
go? I know there is a CFLUSH instruction out there, which allows fine-
grained deleting of single cache lines. However, looping over each
cache line takes...
