New PC by
Makhno
Hello,
I'm looking for a new PC to replace my laptop but can't seem to find exactly
what I want. I'm just after a basic barebones system with single 3GHz
processor with PCI-Express motherboard and capable of taking 2Gb of RAM,
preferably DDR667.
What I'd like it in however is as small a case as...

How much to charge for doing repairs upgrades etc? by
Kim
I have many years experience building PCs, doing
upgrades/repairs, installations etc. for myself and various
friends & family. I now wish to set up doing this as a business
to earn a bit of extra cash. Initially this would be mainly for
private individuals on evenings and weekends, but if it...

Ebuyer Missing Items, InterCity Link Courier Theft probable..... by
tHatDudeUK
Hi,
Ebuyer have told me that the package was dispatched with the items in (based
on weight, which I presume they kept a record of the original parcel
weight). When the box was received it had obviously been open
and taped up again.
B*****d thieving couriers who didn't even steal the most...

DIY systems by
Dr Teeth
I would like my next PC to have all its components chosen by myself;
to the extent that I wish to choose the manufacturers of the
components.
My chosen supplier (CCL) is taking ages to get its online configuring
system online and my money is burning a hole in my pocket.
Can anybody advise on a...

Faulty goods on a b2b account? by
Mike
Ordered an item on our business account.
The item is faulty so we have raised an RMA.
We are told we have to pay the postage and get it back to them, they do not
arrange collections.
Is this correct. On a normal consumer account you are not liable for the
postage if you are sent faulty goods,...

problems with a supplier of a pre-built PC by
Chris Basford
I apologise if this is slightly OT for uk.comp.homebuilt, but you guys
were very helpful last time I asked a question and uk.comp.vendors,
whilst the most relevant group seems to receive hardly any traffic.
Basically, I decided to buy a pre-built base unit from RedJag Computers
(www.redjag.co.uk)...

19" CRT monitor recommendation by
Individual.NET
Cannot make up my mind which one to go for. Most likely to be used at
1600x1200 or 1280x1024 for office type application and some games, but
nothing too fancy. Good picture quality the top priority.
Ideally would like to buy from...

Who would you recommend? by

I'm thinking of buying a built to order PC.
A lot of bad reviews for various companies on here - but does anyone have
any recommendations/good feedback for any company?

Surfbaud - gone for good? by
TheMongKey
Does anyone know if Surfbaud have quit the battery business? I need quite a
few for work laptops and am very happy with the one I got for my own machine
at home, but the online store has disappeared and what remains on the
website is cryptic to say the least.

Ebuyer - wtf? by
DerekBaker
Returned a new graphic card to ebuyer yesterday. The bracket was bent so
the card could not be installed.
Today they tell me that the fault can not be replicated and they're
returning the card (naturally I've already ordered another elsewhere.)
What's going on?
Am I too cynical thinking that...

PC World by
crow dream
Hello all,
Just thought i would share my experience with you all in regards to PC
World.
Usually I find PC world to be a good source of that "must have" item
that can't wait the 3 days delivery time. The sales staff don't tend
to bother me as i know what i want and don't really stay around...

Sending a (large) monitor back to Aria by
[email protected]
I bought a (very heavy) 22" monitor from Aria in November and now I
need to return it to Aria -- I've applied for a RMA and received the
confirmation but it seems I will have to organise shipping it back
myself.
I'm thinking Initial City Link might be a good choice since they should
be quite cheap...
