Commvault Galaxy Express by
ttkkdog
I have Commvault Galaxy Express installed on my Windows 2003 server. I
have 5 iData remote agent licences. Is there any way to push the
remote agent to one Windows 2000 server and 2 NT 4.0 servers with out
having to goto every server and manually install the agent?

Commvault Galaxy [Express] by
[email protected]
I recently purchased a new server with a 80/160GB tape drive in it. It
is running Suse Linux 9 on it. I installed Commvault Galaxy Express on
it as the media library and with my windows server being the master.
When ever I try to back up, at random times the backup fails.
Some times, it gives the...

Commvault Galaxy? by
Paul Hutchings
Is anyone using it on Windows to backup a number (approx 20) of file and
application servers on a gig switched network, to an LTO library?
Any thoughts on it?
We currently use Arcserve, we're replacing a bunch of kit and Dell now
offer Galaxy, we had their rep in to see us and it looks like a...

Compact storage server or storage tower w/ 8 Bays (Min) by
Gaiko
I am trying to find an 8bay (minimum) storage tower that doesn't take
up a ton of space *and* doesn't cost a fortune. The best option would
be a minimally sized self contained box like a via box I read about
(but can't find for sale) (http://www.mswhs.com/2009/10/via-nsd-7800-
review/)
The second...

CompactFlash for storage by
Spoon
Hello everyone,
I have an x86-based system running Linux, and I'm considering using a
CompactFlash card for non-volatile storage, instead of a typical hard
disk drive.
I was wondering if I could just use the same IDE driver I've been using
for hard disk drives.
As far as I understand, if I...

CompactFlash RAID Card With ATA Host Interface? by
Will
I'm looking to a firewall from ATA hard drives over to booting from a
CompactFlash, and then writing logs and other real-time files to a separate
hard drive. I have seen many small (2 inch by 2 inch) boards that will
convert ATA to CF interfaces, sometimes for two CF cards on one board.
Has...

CompactFlash, Card Information Structure, DeviceSpeed by
Tim Clacy
What, if any, tuple in the CIS can be used to setup card controller common
memory space bus cycle timings?
I've found several high-speed, solid state CompactFlash cards report 250ns
device speed in the device information tuple and yet these same cards
actually work at, and are specified at,100ns...

CompactFlash: PIO Timings vs. MemoryCycle Timings by
Tim Clacy
When using CompactFlash in memory mapped mode (CommonMemory space), where
are you supposed to get the memory cycle timings from? There don't appear to
be 'MemoryCycle' timings, as there are PIO timings, either in the device
identification or Card Information Structure.
The trouble is that although...

Compaq RA4100 Two servers, 1 logical drive. by
WS
Is it possible to have two servers accessing the same logical drive, on a
Compaq RA4100 SAN?
I need to create a shared storage area between two servers, for an offline
copy of the content of our file-server. Once the data has been copied to the
partition by our file & print server, the backup...

Compaq Smart Array Controller 221 and Linux by
Fred
Hi everyone,
I'm trying use to this RAID controller under Linux and while it's
correctly detected by the cpqarray module, I'm unable to discover
attached disks and therefore unable to create any partition on them.
I've installed the cpqacuxe (7.0.1) but it reports 'no supported
controller found'...

comparable rack storage space... by
Allen Jaffee
Good Day.
Does anyone know of a rack enclosure that is supports SCSI
bus of Ultra 80 & maybe even 160.
Around 6 verticle (on end) bays (comparable to the IBM
3519). 4U in height.
I'm looking to update my enclosure for faster drives. To
include @ least 6 vertical bays.
TIA.

Comparing some storage vendors by

I know this is fuzzy as heck, and yes, as a techie it makes me a bit
squeamish, but if you have experience with the Storage Solutions of one or
more of the following vendors, I'd appreciate it greatly if you could give
me your subjective rating, on a scale from 1-10 rating (10 is best) of

Complex Legato Networker Problem with AIX4.3.3 and L700e by
[email protected]
Hi,
I've discovered a serious problem with Legato Networker v6.1.3 under
AIX 4.3.3 and the FC-native connected robotic controller of a STK
L700e to an IBM 6228 FC-Adapter:
Everytime the customer used the import/export slot (cap) during
library moves, Legato Networker reports I/O errors. Due to...
