On-the-fly burning time by
normanstrong
Yesterday I made an on-the-fly copy of a 78 minute CD using Nero. I
used the Lite-On 163 to read and the 40125 to write. Everything was
set for maximum speed. (Believe it or not, this is the first time
I've ever had occasion to try on-the-fly burning.) The full elapsed
time was 3:06. The...

Plextor 708UF CD-R media recognition problem by
Mike S.
My new (manufactured February 2004) Plextor 708 external fails to recognize
some common CD-R media. It is unpredictable and spotty; usually cheap
(e.g. CMC Magnetics) media that are initialized properly by other drives
(including older Plextors).
No problems with burning discs once accepted and no...

Nero burning - only Max speed available in drop down list by
luap bopper
Hi People
Just bought myself a cheap DVD burner (BTW DVD+-RW) shows up as
DVDRWIDE1004. I had to install the OEM version of Nero that came with
it Version 5.5.10.49 bundled and when I go to burn a DVD I can only
burn at the speed it allows. Nothing else available in drop-down.
Does anyone know a...

Printing on Media by
Mini Me
Is thermal printing better than InkJet?
I'm thinking of replacing my HP DeskJet with a Epson printer that will
print on CDs, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to pick up one of those
$99 thermal CD printers.
Thanks!

the cd's as well and at a reasonable cost (in the 1k range)? If not,
I'm also open to a seperate...

Avoid Verbatim products! by
Jennifer Eccles
Buy Verbatim CDRs at your peril !!!
I went through several hundred 48x / 700mb / Data Life discs without
trouble. Then all of a sudden they changed the specification and now
they don't work! The new 48x / 700mb / Data Life items look very
similar, but now it says "compatible" under the 48, in...

CD-Rs pause at random intervals when playing by
Tim Kroesen
Sure sounds like a reading problem so far as your 'skip' indicates;
related to a poor burn, poorly matched media or defective media; you
seem to have that sorted out though... I'd try yet another more
commonly regarded brand like FujiFilm (Taiyo Yuden) using older Cyanine
dye; if they won't play...
