artic silver - question by
Darryl
Greetings,
I had to remove my PIII from my BX133 motherboard. This required
separation of the heatsink from the processor. It previously had a thermal
pad connecting the heatsink to the processor. When I re-install the
processor
into the motherboard , and the heatsink to the processor, I've been...

Barton 2500 bundle still running hot after exchange by
Neil
I posted a couple of weeks ago that my new motherboard bundle was running
very hot, though was stable.
Essentially it was running at 65-70 deg C with just web usage.
After trying numerous things suggested, I took it back to the vendor. They
tested it and said it seemed OK, though OK to them was...

JAD
Many people buy online here. I'm lucky as the two top dogs in california are
less than 2 miles from me (newegg.mwave). If i could just pursuade newegg to
open a pickup counter ;^( I'de be set. Packaging is usually very good as
most of the big guys have alot of experience in shipping.

Now, where was that computer case??? by
Larc
Somebody here posted a URL to a site that has a great selection of colored cases
and even colored laptops. I believe they also have keyboards and mice in colors
that match the cases. One of the cases interested me, but not enough at the
time to save the URL. Now I can't stop thinking about that...

Anybody have a RaidMax 268W case? (with side window) by
Matt
I mean the 268WXP, where X denotes the color.
Like this one maybe:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?description=11-156-020
I'm thinking of buying one. I want to be able to modify it to hold a
RAID array of four drives, and my plan is to put one or more fans
between the front wall and...

Flash drives instead of HDDs? by
Peter Lampione
I am building a web server, and I would like it to be very quiet and
run cool. I realize also that I really don't need more than 2 GB of disk,
and 4 GB would be really more than enough.
Can I use a flash drive instead? Ideally, I'd like to plug in something
that just looks to the PC as an IDE...

Correct processor speed by
Ranjit
Hi,
I recently built a new PC (thanx to the help from ACHPH guys out here).
I have a AMD Athlon 2500+ on a ASUS A7N8X DX mobo. The PC is working fine,
however at the start the processor speed it shows is AMD 1100MHz. Can
someone tell me if it's just a bios print error or do I actually need...

Does memory bank order matter? by
Sabyasachi Basu
While assembling my PC with an Intel D845GEBV2, I put a 512 MB RAM stick in
bank 1 and left bank 0 empty since I had plugged in the AGP card first and
the AGP retention mechanism was occuluding memory bank 0. Though everything
seems to be working fine, I wonder if there are any performance issues...

matching fsb/bus/ram speeds important? by
Cermo
Is it more important to have RAM that operates at the same speed as
the processor bus speed, or does it make more sense to buy a more
high-end component if it's affordable? That is, I'm planning to build
a new machine with an Asus a7n8x motherboard which as a 400/333/266
