I'm trying to back up my cliparts CDs to a DVD. It has 109,988 files in 745 folders. I tried both Nero and Sonic recordNow (recommended by users of NEC ND2500A). On Nero 6.3.1.10, it shows as 4486MB total size (2MB from full capacity). When I burn it it creates directory and freezes there. Nothing...

cd problem with combo drive by James
Lately it's giving me problems reading music cd's. Still reading DVD's with no problem. Would this be a software or hardware problem? I figure since it's reading DVD OK, it wouldn't be a dirty lens.

CD/RW reliable or not ? by Augusto Cardoso
I'm using CD/RW for a few months now. The main purpose is to perform application backups, once a month. Three or four times I had problems when trying to add a new backup to a partially filled CD/RW. The system (Win XP) hangs during the write operation (more exactly: InCD or Nero stop responding...

LG GCC 4480B - firmware upgrade question by Libor Striz
Hello, is firmware upgrade for CDRW/DVD combo worthy to try it? My current one is 1.00, on their site is 1.02. Nothing special is written about firmware history, just sth about better work with CD-R. -- "Libor the Wanderer"

The time for CDRs is running out ........ by Hans-Marc Olsen
They will lose their data after 5 years and soon everybody will throw them away and buy cassette recorders again. CDRs are rubbish, but cassette recorders rule!

deodorize a computer by Eddy Long
Not a troll. Really. We just received a used computer with two CD-RW drives and a zip drive. A five year old Dell with PIII @ 500mhz and a Win 98 SE operating system. The machine - tower and montior - has a stale tobacco odor with some perfume.
