Retropect (as all our backups). the tape is a V17 and was made on a
SCSI VXA-1. I have tried to restore the contents on a VXA-2 and
VXA-1. Neither drive or the...

They call it a "storage robot." No, I am not spamming for this company, I
actually just read about them in PC Photo's enewsletter, and was wondering
if anyone out there has heard anything about this storage solution, good...

256 MB Upgrade on single controller HP MSA1000 by
[email protected]
Can it be installed? We have an MSA1000 with 256 MB cache and a single
controller. When we install the second 256MB DIMM, the startup test
fails.
HP people says here that you canīt upgrade a single controller MSA1000
with more cache. The only document I can find is one that says that
"cache...

This could be the next big thing from Google. by
rishil
When Google launched Gmail on April Fools' Day of 2004, users were
wowed by the unheard of 1GB mailbox limit. In a world of e-mail
services that offered anywhere from 1MB to 10MB of storage, Google's
offering stood out. Google the big daddy of the internet always play
big..so what would be the next...

doing it is to create so many files which is time consuming . One more
option to use is Snapmirror/Replication technologies to create this
Data set. Anything else...

Just getting back to posting on various boards after a while.
My place just went through the hoop of upgrading the firmware on all
the disk-shelf controllers in our NetApp gear. Apparently there were
excellent reasons for us to do this. It wasn't completely clear to
me...I don't know much about...

Question about ATA-2 and the Fixed Disk Parameter Table by
Emerald Saint
Do you remember back when we had to specify the Cylinders, Heads and Sectors
(CHS) in the BIOS Setup when installing a new hard drive? There was a
'drive type' table that had ready-made sets drive parameters to pick from.
You picked one that was the best for the drive and your choice of...
