Brother MFC-4600 Win2K troubles by Thomas Rohricht
Using a Brother MFC-4600 Laser Multifunction machine - a problematic piece of equipment at the best of times. Out of the blue and for no apparent reason, the driver stopped talking to the printer. I can still scan and receive faxes so I know the parallel port (and that idiotic BMFC port) are still...

HP Psc 2110 & Windows XP by Don McCarter
I am very happy with this printer and I am passing the following along, hopefully to help anyone having the same problem that I had. I recently purchased a All-in-one Hp PSC 2110. Initially the scanning results were not as expected. Scanning was slow and B&W scans did not give good results. Due to...

Recommended laser printer parts vendor by Warren Post
Can anyone recommend a reliable online vendor of laser printer parts? My Brother MFC 4500ML multifunction laser needs a new fuser controler board. Sure, I could Google, but my interest is not so much finding the lowest price as finding a reliable vendor. TIA, Warren

Epson 740 serial replacement by Dean Leutscher
Your help, please. My Espon 740 prints colored lines in high quality mode. Everything I've tried - hardware and software - has not worked. The problem in that my Apple PowerBook G3 only has a serial port -- not available on any new printer that I know of. Any suggestions - either on fixing the 740...

Canon i950 vs. i950s by Jerry Schwartz
The differences would probably have nothing to do with the hardware. These "special" models sometimes have different software bundled with them, and have different eligibility for rebates; the warranty might be different, but not likely. It's conceivable that they supply half-filled ink cartridges...

Epson Stylus Photo 825 printers and Generic cartriges by Tony Bragg
It seems the Epson has great photo quality printers. I am considering buying a new printer and cartridge costs is something I am looking at. I noticed several auctions on Ebay showing replacement cartridges for this 825 printer at ridiculously low prices. I know they are generic, but they...

I Don't Really Get This... by Gary Eickmeier
I bought some Canon matte photo paper and Epson Matte Paper Heavyweight for my Canon i950, just to try the matte papers on it. They both seem to have the same problem. You take the paper out, and it looks like ordinary white paper, no texture or emulsion qualities whatsoever - so flat and plain...

HP LaserJet 1000 only 1meg memory max? by Dewaine
Al: It is an entry level printer. One thing you could do to print large job is by reducing the resolution of the printer. EG, reduce from 600 down to 300dpi. That will be the only way to go. Regards. Dewaine. A Printer Geek.

Tektronix Phaser 740 image problem?? by Phil Lee
Hi, have a 740 that used to work, but now has 3" ghosting repeats and smeary images only on the right side of page. Have replaced transfer kit with new and cleaned the paper feeder with IPA. Have cleaned electrical contacts and bent the tabs so that intimate contact is made with the transfer roller...

Canon i 950 vs. i 850 , Is it worth the extra cost in my case? by [email protected]
I'm a home user who won't print photos daily and I just bought an i850 but wonder if its worth the extra $100 to return it for the i950? I'm guessing maybe 33% of use will be for photos. In your opinion, can you see a substantial difference in the appearance / resolution for 4"x6" printed photos?...

papers & the Canon i950 by Judy Cosler
Let me restate what I think I've learned here about papers & the i950. 1. there is a Canon paper which is 1) hard to find & 2) expensive which produces good results. 2. Office Depot High gloss paper produces good results. 3. Red River paper(s) produce good results. now, among those 3, is one...
