Hi,
I have a clariion fc5300 and a brocade 2400 switch in my lab. I also
have EMC's navisphere manager but I do not have navisphere hosts agent

manager to control my storage. Does anyone have? Please help and
thanks.

Decentralized/distributed filesystems questions by
Wendell III
Hi all,
I am looking for a decentralized filesystem solution for non-enterprise
use (lightweight) to replace several rsync-mirrored, software-based
RAID-5 storage servers. I don't know if there's any actual solution out
there which meets my fantasy, but here is some criteria that would be...

LVM vs Software RAID by
Wendell III
Hi everyone,
Quick question: Given that it is now possible to have software-based
RAID arrays which are able to be grown using mdadm on Linux, what
advantage, if any, does LVM actually provide?
And yes, I am aware that the filesystem does not grow with mdadm's
--grow command, but tools like...

ASRock Board with SIS 181 Raid-1 - Test of Raid-1 - Boot not possible by
Alex Thies
Hello guys.
Greetings from Germany. I hope you can help me.
I have got an Asrock P4S55FX+ mainboard with an SIS 181 Raid

and my Windows 2003. It worked very well. When I removed on HDD
(broken raid1), it was still possible to...

Big volumes, small files by
[email protected]
Hello,
I'd like to plan a new storage solution for a system currently in
production.
The system's storage is based on code which writes many files to the
file system, with overall storage needs currently around 40TB and
expected to reach hundreds of TBs. The average file size of the system
is...

Linux tool for disk blocks usage by
[email protected]
Hi,
What is a good tool to remotely monitor disk usage (actual blocks used
and free space) for storage hosted by a Linux server? Perhaps a tool
with some graphical usage summary? Monitoring the data via CIFS and
NFS shares will not work in our environment that well since some
directories are not...

How good is an EMC SAN? by
MQCarpenter
I am exploring SAN options at the office and keep reading that EMC is
the best. I am not doing FC, but am looking at a CX300i. How good is
this product compared to the cheaper HP, Lefthand, and other options?
Is their reputation worth the extra cost for maintenance, support, and
quality?

int 13 and el torito floppy boot image by
jcomeau_ictx
Hi, I'm hoping someone here has some El Torito experience. I'm using
mkisofs to burn a bootable CDROM of the colorForth operating system as
if it were a 1.44MB floppy. I could probably get it to work by setting
-boot-load-size to the full image, but for various reasons I'd like to
avoid that, and...
