OC P4 1,7GHz by
Tin
What was the highest speed you managed to oc P4 1,7GHz (crazy William core
:) )? I tried and it becomes unstable after 1,97GHz. MBO is MSI Sis645 Ultra
with 512MB Corsair DDR400. I heard they pushed it up to 2,4GHz...

Lapping a P4? by
Tony Sivori
I have a P4 2.4B stepping SL6SH. I was shocked at how rough the heat
spreader is. I mean, it almost looks like it fell off the back of a truck,
and skidded along the road for a mile or two. :-)
The obvious solution is lapping. But I see that there is a small hole in the
heat spreader, and I'm...

VCore undervoltage... is it harmful? by
Dave
Depends on the CPU. Some AMDs with "Power Now" use voltage reduction to
reduce power consumption for mobile use. While the CPU is in reduced power
mode it also clocks down (underclocks). Check out your CPU speed with the
reduced voltage, you CPU clock could have dropped with the voltage drop.

I'm not sure of what you ask - OC is a hardware issue. Like changing

Multiplier question: bios or hardware... ??? by
Bougon
I own an old AOpen AX64 MoBo. I know a bios update can't give me a wider
range of possible FSB that Bios offers because these are the only ones
supported by the clock generator of my motherboard (ICWorks W144H).
But, is the clock multiplier a bios issue or is it related to hardware as
this is the...

FSB/RAM MHz vs Low SDRAM Delays by
Rip Munsterman
Can anyone tell me which angle is the best to go when OCing? If I lower the
SDRAM delays and CAS latency to 4-2-2-2T, I can only overclock my FSB/memory
to 210MHz in the BIOS. If I want to increase FSB/memory to 217MHz, I have
to increase the SDRAM delays to 7-3-3-2T. Which should I be focused...
