1.6Ghz CPU = bottleneck for an FX5600? by
Steve Evans
I have an Athlon XP1900, 512Mb DDR, Abit KR7a (AGP 4x), GF3 Ti200
system.
Intrigued as to how much difference a 'current' graphics card would
make, I borrowed a 5600 non-ultra, put the latest drivers on and found
that I only got an increase of around 5fps in UT2003.
Changing the level of eye candy...

100 percent CPU use on RDP client by
PureFox
Hi,
I'am running a application via remote desktop on a server. There is an
agenda applicatrion running that takes 100% cpu of the client when
dragging the appointments from one day/time to another. The window is
walking far behind. Making the window smaller speeds things up. It looks

1080p LCD to PC, cabling: VGA / SVGA / UXGA by
Dennis[_2_]
I recently switched to using a 47" LCD as my monitor. It's 1080p so my
resolution is 1920x1080
I'm currently using a normal PC cable, the same one I used for my old
1024x768 monitor. Things look okay to me. But I note that there are
different kinds of PC cables (HD15 / Sub D) . There are some...

1152 x 864 resolutions and graphics cards by
Lars-Erik Østerud
I have found that 1152x864 is the resolution that fits me best (not to
small font, and web pages fit the width even with a bookmark bar open)
My current Ti-4200 support 1024x768, 1152x864 and 1280x1024 in analog
output BUT in digital (DVI) I can only select 1024x768 and 1280x1024
Why is there no...

128 or 256? by
Dragoncarer
So I've heard mixed opinions about this issue - for instance my bro says
he's heard a 128mb card will actually perform better than a 256mb card.
What's the deal?!
lol, but thanks for any help/ opinions/ info.

128 or 256MB Card
I am considering a leadtek 5900 card with VIVO. Can anyone tell me whether
the extra 128 memory makes a vast difference bearing in mind that I wish to
do video capture.
Thanks

1280 x 1024 resolution setting by

My computer is using NVIDIA FX5500 GeForce graphic card and Philips 23PF9946
LCD panel. They are connected using DVI interface and using the driver from
ForceWare v81.98 in which does not support 1280 x 1024 and does not work at
1280 x 768. The panel has maximum resolution 1280 x 1024 while the...

128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS? by
Desert Rider
Dell is building a new system for a friend and the video card is
listed as a 128 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS. I've checked the NVIDIA
website and they have nothing listed as this model. Closest they have
is an 8400 GS. I've done a fair amount of checking on forums and
elsewhere (anandtech, etc.) and...

128Mb or 256Mb ? for graphics... by
Steve
I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card, but I can't decide if or not to
go for a 256Mb model. Is the memory important, or is 128Mb considered
'enough' ? I am looking at a
Nvidia 5700 (256Mb),
Radeon 9600 (256Mb) or
Radeon 9800 (128Mb).

128MB vs. 256MB by
April High
Hey all!! I would just like to get some opinions on whether to go with a
128mb FX card or a 256mb card. I have been looking at the Chaintech 5600
ultra or the 5700. Only looking to spend about $150.00. Any opinions are
welcome.
Thanks for the info
