My computer's internal speaker doesn't work. by
dos-man
This doesn't work at all. I can't even drop down into real-mode and
beep the damn thing with a qbasic program.
Does anybody know if this has anything to do with the sound card, or
is the internal speaker on motherboard??

PC Continuously Reboots by
[email protected]
When I boot up my PC, it reaches the part where it shows the Windows
XP screen, and then it reboots again by itself! Basically, the PC is
stuck in an infinite loop of reboots!!
I am not much of an expert with PCs, but I have the feeling that this
has something to do with some hardware component...

The problem is it reads dvd perfectly, but does not read dc's at all.
I have tried several different mediums, such as audio cd's, blank cdr's,
full cdr's, all the same result.
The drive is spinning the disc, and the head can be heard trying to read the
index,...

Grounding an ungrounded outlet by
Skeleton Man
Hi all,
I just discovered today that none of the outlets in my house are grounded.
The house is literally 100 years old, and the wiring probably 50 years. At
first I thought one outlet was screwy, so I tried a few more, and none of
them grounded.
How do I safely ground at least one or two outlets...

Computer won't boot up - mobo? by
Pete Zahut
I built a system for a friend about three months ago (all components brand
new at that time) and it won't boot up now. When the button is pressed,
everything "comes to life" as you would expect, ie, ATX PSU fan, CPU fan,
case fan and hard drive all spin up but two or three seconds later it all...

RAM problem / question by
John D99
I have an Asus A8N-VM CSM mobo. It ran fine for 2 years, but with only 512
megs RAM things got a little crowded, so I decided to double the RAM.
I bought a 512 MB DDR PC3200 stick (cheapest OEM available), and installed
it. As far as know, this is the right type RAM for the mobo.
Everything...

Thanks

This printer we've got (a Phaser 8560N) is perfectly functional but

a REAL web-based camera by

Hi all,
We've just got a webcam from 4XEM ( http://4xem.com/ ) which was
advertised as a web-camera (IP camera, whatever). There was only one
caveat - it only works in the Internet Explorer as it's got an ActiveX
control. So, essentially, this is not a web product, but rather a
Microsoft-oriented...
