How many WATTs power supply do i need? by Beowulf
Building a new system wondering how big a power supply I need? Yes i have seen sites helping to figure it out but I think it gets more complicated with a dual core cpu and perhaps (at some point in time) two graphics cards using SLI. AMD Athlon 64 dual core X2 cpu, perhaps the 4000 series 1 nVidia...

ATX board to "laptop" converstion by [email protected]
Hi! Any suggestion about "converting" an atx board to a "laptop", in the sense that I don't need the PCI/AGP slots available, just want to use the 2 integrated usb ports (for wifi, perhaps external hd or flash drive), mouse/kbd, vga? The mobo has a 1ghz PIII, with the CPU fan on it, so it can be...

Hard drive mounting rails - quick release by [email protected]
I've got a case that has 5.25" bays for drives but doesn't accept the quick release type slides that mount on the sides of the drive. For serviceability I'd like to have this feature. Does anyone know if there is a drive mounting kit that would allow a 3.5" hard drive to be put into a 5.25" opening...

Ultra 320 SCSI drives - the size of laptop drives by Dave (from the UK)
A mate of mine found a couple of Ultra 320 36 GB SCSI disks with SCA connectors (80-pin). But unusually these are about the size of laptop drives (I have not seen them myself) rather than the more common 1" thick ones. I gather they are not much wider than the SCA connector. Does anyone know what...

I am thinking of building a new pc and have been looking at the x1800xt graphics card (e.g. http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productinfo.aspx? ProductID=11397 ). I would like the possibility of adding a second card at a later date. The models i have seen come with an active cooling system which blows...
