Where to buy a 146 HE Opteron CPU? by
Bob Day
Does anyone know of an online store that has the low power
(55 watt) single processor 2.0 GHz Opteron (the 146 HE) CPU --
either the boxed or the tray version -- in stock? The part number
for the boxed version is OSK146ATBOX. Many online stores
list it, but it always seems to be backordered, on...

Does the Asus SK8V motherboard support Opteron 240EE ? by
Bob Day
The 240EE is a low power Opteron CPU that runs at
1.15 volts rather than the 1.5 volts of the standard
Opterons. Does anyone know whether the SK8V will
detect that the CPU is a 240EE and, accordingly, adjust
the CPU voltage to 1.15 volts?

E4300 - Very fast temp change with loading by
Bob F
In experimenting with overclocking a new system, I've noticed that
the CPU temperature displayed varies very quickly with load. Running
orthos gets the temp (displayed by PC Probe II) up to 129F within
a few minutes. Stopping orthos results in the temp dropping within
seconds to less than 100F....

Is xp Pro dual xeon faster with hyperthreading enabled? by

Hi,
I have a dual Xeon Windows XP Pro machine with hyperthreading enabled. I
run an application that is specifically designed to run on a dual processor
machine. When I run the application and look at the performance graphs in
the task manager, it says I'm only using 50% of my cpu resources. ...

Will not power up by
Bob H[_3_]
I have an E-Machines T2742 that will not power up after last shutdown. I
changed the power supply and checked out the front panel push button switch.
Is there a relay or something on the main board that controls that function
that I would be able to change?

Asus Gf4 4200ti vs. generic vs. Asus fx5200 by
Bob Knowlden
The FX5200 is a low-end DX9 card, but it may lack enough raw power to run
DX9 features.
The 4200 is from the previous generation; it's pretty fast (and sometimes
overclockable to near spec 4600 performance levels). It's DX8 only.
You don't mention your CPU/RAM, so I can't guess whether your card...
