videoconf on static IP address + audio problem by
Lolo
1/ Hello, I have bought a static IP adress at DNStogo service. It makes my
computer pointed to the same address I have chosen even if I disconnect and
reconnect to the internet. To be sure it's OK, I need someone to tell me if
you are able to see me or my room through the webcam when you type...

Linksys WVC54G Web Cam issues by
R. P.
Anybody here has successfully deployed the subject Web camera? If so,
I'd like to know how. I was able to get it configured with Ethernet
connection hooked up to my BEFW11S4 Ver. 2 Linksys firewall router in an
infrastracture mode but the cam seems to drop off the line so often as
to make it pretty...

3com homeconnect vs Philips Toucam Pro II by
yugi
I have both of them. Here are my observations:
3com
advantages:
excellent low light sensitivity
sharp and clear noise free picture
wider angle than Philips
optional lens kit (wide angle, closeup and telephoto)
USB cable can be detached from the camera

I have our physician group that would like to remotely pre-diagnose
potential stroke victims from home to save that valuable time a patient
has.
I need a camera that is HIGHLY detailed with pan/tilt/zoom with an
optical zoom of course. Also needs to have a port for a microphone so
the Dr can hear...

Compex NP26G USB - Logitech Pro 4000 - TrackerCam - Discussion by
Ralph Wallace
I've just installed the new Compex NP26G USB broadband router with their
firmware upgrade for webcam and tilt/pan control for Logitech Pro 4000 &
TrackerCam pod.
Everything is working but if the camera is exposed to outdoor light levels
the picture becomes way too light and unusable. I've played...

Loud High Pitch feedback noise when using Two quickcam messengers with MSN by
Rockstead
Here's my problem, I would appreciate any feedback and will try
anything at this point. Logitech tech support wouldn't even talk to me
and told me to call MSN, terrible after pruchase service, I'm really
disappointed with Logitech.
I hooked up two Quickcam Messengers to two PCs I have in my house...

Free P2P Video conferenceing software? by
Stein Arne Storslett
Hi, I'm on the look-out for some video conferencing software.
I've just started with this and I have my camera up and running, I've
used MS Netmeeting for two way video conferences. But Netmeeting does
_not_ support meetings with multiple people in video. Only two
attendants can have video, while...

Videoconference freeware??? by
mike
I'm trying to set up videoconferencing to talk to the folks back home.
Netmeeting seemed like it would be ideal because it's already
on the system.
So, I hooked two computers up via 100Mb ethernet as a testbed.
The video works, but the sound is HORRIBLE. Sounds like gargling.
This ain't gonna get...

I'm setting up instant video messaging with a relative who is overseas. I
decided to use a couple of Pro 4000s with MSN Instant Messenger, based on
what I've heard from others relative to image quality...

recommendations for NAT friendly videoconf software? by
RobR
My dad and I have tried MSN Messenger but frankly
it wants way way way too many ports NATted (60,000
of them in fact).
So we tried AIM, no good. Then the new Triton AIM.
We managed to get sound working, but video shows up
as black and we couldn't find any docs on any specific
ports that might...
