Presario S4200NX - drag & drop problem by
Euc1id
When I drag & drop files with Windows Explorer (XP Home) on my new Compaq
S4200NX computer (just had it a few days), frequently they go into the wrong
folder. It's always one folder above or below the intended folder on the
screen. In one case when I dragged a group of files, it transferred...

Presario S4020WM-B by

Anybody else got one? I'd like to exchange experiences if you do. See if we
have the same problems, etc.
The Presario S4020WM-B just went on sale at Walmart a few days ago fro $498.
I jumped on it. There are some problems but it may be a keeper nevertheless.
The AMD Athlon XP 2400+ processor...

I got one of these a few months ago, upgraded to a bigger hard drive and
more RAM, and am happy with it now. The first one I got was a lemon (the
computer), so I took it back and exchanged it. The second one (the computer)
was OK, but the monitor konked out within a few days. I sent the...

How to tweak the keyboard repeat delay? by
Euclid
My keyboard repeat delay is either too fast or too slow. The settings
available via Control Panel, Keyboard don't give the delay I need. If I
select the fastest speed (i.e. no delay), that's too fast because I get
skips (unwanted spaces) when I'm doing ordinary typing. If I set the slider
one notch...

Recovery Tools CD - Data Partition by
Euclid
My Presario S4020WM Recovery Tools CD offers to make a new data partition
once from the unused space. No details are given. Questions:
1) Is this space taken from the C-partition?
2) Is it contiguous space?
3) Is it taken from the start, middle, or end of the disk?
4) Is it non-destructive? (so...

hd jumpers - is "Cable Select" best? by
Euclid
I have a Compaq Presario S4020WM purchased from Wal-Mart last year. I
replaced the original hard drive with 120G and 80G drives. My question is
whether it makes a difference in performance whether I selected Master and
Slave for the jumper settings, or Cable Select for one or both of them? I
can't...

Sorry for the emulation of the subject line of the prior thread, but it's

S6020WM versus S4020WM (at Walmart) by
Euclid
I bought a Compaq Presario S4020WM at Walmart last summer for $495, complete
with a 17" monitor. It has an AMD XP 2400+ processor at 2.0GHz. I had to put
in more RAM to make it work right, but it's a good machine.
They're currently selling the Compaq Presario S6020WM at Walmart for $495
with a...

80 GB hard drive by
Euclid
The hard drives are probably compatible. It depends on what the motherboard
and bios will recognize (look in your bios). Windows XP machines probably
accept up to 120GB hard drives without a problem. Older machines, maybe not.
I had a W98se HP Pavilion purchased in 1999 that would only recognize up...
