[W2003 Server] USB2 drive on a USB1 controller by
Vincent Delporte
Hello
I'm running Windows 2003 Server on an older test host that has a USB 1
controller. Although W2003 does detect the USB2 thumb drive and lists
it under mass storage, tells me that I would get better performance if
I used a USB2 controller, but doesn't assign it a drive letter.
Anybody knows...

[Q] Veritas Record Now DX 4.56 by
john iv
When creating a group of data discs, is there a way to add all 17Gigs of
source data and have Record Now 'prompt' for the next DVD media when the
preceding is full until 4 DVD's are full and all data has been copied? I'd
like to do full pass backups without having to manually fit a DVD's worth...

[Q] DVD Backup program that will order files into DVD size chunks. by
john iv
I have 30Gigs of info I'd like to back up to DVD+R. The files range from a
few K to 1.2G. Are there any Win32 programs that will analyse the backup
job and order the files such that I can just toss in DVD after DVD and get
close to max capacity for each disk across the backup?
The caveat, the...

[Q] Best cable setup for image drive vs restore drvie. by

Have two HDs in a test box, I will be storing the images on drive 2 and
creating and restoring images on drive 1. For speed, should drive 2 be on
the secondary IDE channel as a master or should it be the slave on the
primary channel, or is this moot/would the speed impact be noticeable...

[OT?] Destroying data on bank card by
Sammy
I like to keep my old bank cards intact and use them for jobs around
the house. My worry is that the data on the magnetic strip can still
be read.
What is the best way to destroy that data without messing up the card
for D-I-Y work.
----
Does a domestic microwave detroy data on a magnetic strip?

[hw identification] What is this? by
Bubba
Greetings to all,
A guy claims that he sells the "hard drive" from the immage, 819 MB from
'84. Even when I excluded PC and such drives, it still seems to be
unrealisticaly big for that age, and the "drive" itself looks rather odd.
