Searcher7
I have a Dell XPS-Z 866Mhz Pentium 3, with 384mb and a 20Gig hard
drive, which is running a fresh install of Windows XP.
For some reason even though I've transferred about 1 gig worth of
files back to the drive it is almost full, causing the reminders to
keep popping up. Before I re-installed...

Win 7 drivers for the Precision 670 by
[email protected]
Some buds have talked me into Win 7 Pro Edition for the 670 Workstation
but realize there may not be drivers available for the integrated SATA
controller. Tried a Dell chat session but the rep quickly pasted a pre-
sales URL, and then I told her it was already sitting here on the desk.
No reply...

Dell's new attitude is going to put them where Circuit City ended up. by
alien
This post is merely a vent and a hope that someone from Dell reads this.
I just received my 4th Dell computer and including my place of employment
and friends and family have been involved in the purchase of 10 other Dell
computers, a couple of TVs and a few monitors. Easily over $15,000 of...

When you first install this program and allow it to update itself how
large is the initial update?
I ask because I tried it and the update was over 45 MEG!!!
Is there a way to install it, then MANUALLY update it? I keep MS auto

SSD with eSata enclosure by
dealrocker
My friend own a Dell Studio 17 laptop and he want to backup some data.
But, USB 2.0 is slow for a back up drive and moving data. His laptop
has a dedicated eSata port which moves data at 3.0GB/sec. So, he is
looking for a good SSD drive with an eSata enclosure.
Any recommendation..

I'm having quite the time finding a key to beep codes for a Studio Desktop.

Anyone know where I can find those codes?

I watch streaming videos/media on TV. I have connected my laptop to TV
through a cable (I guess s-video cable). My TV is old and so is
laptop. I am thinking to change TV (42" LED).
One store is of the opinion that I must get a new computer with
provision for HDMI connection to TV.
The other store...

Dimension 5100 Card Reader cards 4GB redux - Win7? by
Father Justin
Here's a question. How about upgrading to Windows 7?
I would assume the card reader works under the new and "totally awesome"
Windows 7. Obviously a dangerous assumption, but IMO it would solve the
problems of the buggy MCE.

Dell 690 card-cage fan failure by
Timothy Daniels[_3_]
So my cheapskate company buys me a refurb
desktop, a "Dell 690", and after a couple months
one of the fans starts howling like a vacuum cleaner,
and the BIOS reports a card-cage fan failure.
Since the PC is "used", there's no warranty,
at least not after 30 days, and the Dell parts guy
says he'll...

This is a real technical question grin.
Where do you guys get your rubber pad replacements for bottom of the
dell laptops? Any favorite store or just any Walmart, hardware,
etc.. ? Are they self sticking or do I need to use rubber glue?

NAV2010 & WinXP Firewall by
[email protected]
I run NAV2010, but not NIS2010. I was wondering how WinXP's Firewall
would work with Nav2010? Is anyone running this combination and could
provide some insights? And also, so possible settings for WinXP's
Firewall.
Thanks for any input!

(Where is Stew Lewis when you need him? -- and yes, that's a
rhetorical question, mostly)
There's a cheap Dell Dimension B110 around that's bothering me to
purchase it. (Very cheap, since it has no installed hard disk.) I do
have something in mind for which it could be used, so it...

Latitude D%10 charging system by
Tekkie®
Lately have had a lot of m/b's go which I believe contain the battery charging
system. Is there any obvious thing (fuse) i should look for to try to make
these hang on for awhile. It's a school and the budget has been cut for
replacements.
