How do I know id dual channel memory is working? by
[email protected]
I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with 2 x 256Mb crucial DDR ram chips (total
512Mb ram).
How do I know if the dual channel bit is working?
I have installed the 2 chips in the first and third memory slots, not next
to each other in the first and second slots, is this correct?
Ta...

HP Overclock by
Justin
Does the HP Vectra VLi8 motherboard allow overclocking?? I've heard
somewhere that the HP Vectra motherboard is a BX440 derivative. Does
that motherboard allow overclocking??
I have a Pentium III 450MHz and I want to overclock it to 500MHz or
550MHz. I've read the specs for the Vectra on hp's site...

Can PC3700 Cas3 run at PC3200 Cas2? by
Wayne Youngman
Greetz all,
Just trying to get my head around some memory theory. I am led to believe
that memory can run faster if it has a lower Cas, and that if you have
slower memory you have to *relax* the Cas if you intend to push it above its
rated speed. . . . . . . . .so what I am wondering now is if...

Memtest-86 v3.0 - Some tips needed by
Wayne Youngman
Hi,

downloaded it and made the boot floppy and rebooted. Program works fine and
reported no errors. Thing is its been running for 18 hours and I'm not sure

Overclocking, more questions by
Mr. Teatime
So could you explain to me this: if I set the FSB to 166Mhz, the option is
there to put the RAM at 333Mhz (its default setting). But at this setting
the computer will rarely get past POST. So what could be causing this
problem? WHat if I got DDR3100 RAM, which runs at 400Mhz, and I let the...

Best memory for overclocking by
Mr. Teatime
Ok my specs:
P4 3.06 Ghz, FSB = 133Mhz, water cooled
Gigabyte SinXP1394 motherboard
2 x DDR 2700 512mb RAM sticks, FSB = 333Mhz extra cooling fan
I have decided to look into slightly faster memory.
http://www.tekheads.co.uk/site/browseCategory.do?categoryId=77 shows a lot
of Corsair memory for...

CPU Overclocking - Maxtor Hard Disk not booting? by
Wayne Youngman

Big time trashed. Too little CPU voltage will do the same thing. 25mV

Hi,
I never heard that to little CPU vcore can scramble a hard disk, much the
same as running the PCI to far out of spec used to be (especially Maxtors).
When it did...

How important is memory when OC'ing? by
Rich
I was running an Infineon 256mb PC2700 module in my system and was able to
run my P4M/266a chipset board at 2.7Ghz using a 2.4b cpu. I bought another
module with the exact same specs but a different manufacturer. (Xerox) Now I
can't get over 2.5 without the system rebooting itself. Could someone...

My Swiftech pump is leaking. I thought I read somewhere that it was also a
submersible pump. Can I submerse it in a res to avoid leak issues? Will
that affect my pressure if I do? Thanks.

they say that you can upgrade to 800MHz FSB. Im running the 1005 bios
already. They tell you to change the CPU external frequency to 200MHz and to
make sure there is unlock on frequency multiple processor but the...

The main ideas of dual-channel DDR? by
Jingleheimer
I've searched the web some on the topic of dual-channel DDR and I
haven't found a concise description of what it is and how it works, or
an answer to the practical question of how much good it is.
I guess it is a motherboard feature and you can use the same RAM sticks
in either type of mobo. Is...

P4 2.4B CPU temp by
I of the Storm
I'm new to building systems and overclocking. I have a 2.4B clocked to
2.75Ghz right now. It's running at around 50*C. Is that dangerously high? I
have two 80mm case fans, and I'm using the stock Intel heatsink on the cpu.
My room is always about 80*F, because my roommates are too cheap to keep...
