I am assembling a Vapochill system for my P4 rig and would like any feedback whether to use the supplied HCC compound or use ShinEtsu compound instead ( to cover the top surface of the CPU )?

I have an older MB that can probably not take a P4 3.0 GHz processor (Asus P4GE-V). Can I safely use the 3.0 GHz processer at a slower speed (say 2.6 or 2.4 GHz)? Will it worked? Is the processor locked at a certain speed? Could it damage the processor or motherboard? Thank you. -- Albert...

Been thinking - why couldn't you attach a pelt to the rad on a water cooler system instead of having it sat on the cpu? Sure it'd be less effective, but there's also less need to worry about condensation and if it fails it's not THAT big a deal.
