Overclocking the GA-X38-DQ6 MB by
iret
I have a new Intel quad-core system Q6000 GO stepping, watercooled. CPU stock speed is 2.4 Ghz. I've been able to get the FSB up to 385 MHz x 9 = 3.465 GHz. But at 390 MHz the FSB eventually causes problems in my stress test. (My temperatures are under good control).
I have the CPU voltage control...

Overclocking The Opteron 180 by
YOURSELF
I'm about to begin my series of tests. However my last attempts at OCing were on a 3200+... so I'm a little rusty.
Lets see if I have this straight:
HT (obvioulsy): 1000MHz (x5)
Freq: 200MHz x 12 Mult = 2.4GHz
Where I ALWAYS get confused is with memory timings. My motherboard supports PC3200,...

Need tip on OC w ECS P-35TA + E6400 by
MickT
Greeting :)
Long story shot, I wish to OC my E6400 more with P-35TA with 2¡Ñ1GB DDR2-800
;)
I'd searched the web, and found out the P-35TA in not a very overclockable
MB, mainly because minimal seting for the memory speed & voltage. But the
E6400 are quite the opposite!

Q6600 "safe" temps? by
~misfit~[_8_]
Hey,
I'm just OCing and stressing a new build for a mate. Asus P5K-Deluxe WiFi-AP
with a G0 Q6600 topped with a Thermaltake Big Typhoon. The case isn't the
best in the world for ventilation (Gigabyte 3D Aurora) but it's also not the
worst. 1 x 120mm in the front, 2 x 120mm in the back as well...

Any thoughts.. My PC shuts down after long periods of gaming. And I'm

Can anyone give me a list of possible hardware causes? I'm am...

What stepping/specs to look for? (E6600) by
Thomas Andersson
Hi!
Ok, so I've started looking for a processor on eBay. I'm going for a E6600
and now my question is this. What steppoing or other speccs should I be
looking for (gonna try to run it at 3GHz) to get the best possible processor
model?
TIA

Running E6600 at 3.6ghz now takes less voltage? by
No Name
; Are you clocking the FSB at 400Mhz? E6600 on a P5WDH I consistently
; need 1.55 to get to 3.4ghz and a 377Mhz FSB. With air cooling I'm up
; around a sweltering 68C though running TAT :(
i have an EVGA 680i board and mine was stable 375mhz bus in 3.4ghz running 1.45 volts

CPU for gaming rig, duo or quad? by
Thomas Andersson
Hi!
Looking at trying to build a new machine basically only for gaming (FPS and
MMOs), is there any advantage in this scenario to go quad over duo? At first
my plans was for a E44/4500, but it seems I can get a fairly cheap E6600
from eBay which makes me think that might be a better choise...

DDR2 8500 on overclocked 6400bus? by
Wizfrog
Hello,
Just got a GA-P35C-DS3R with a Q6600 and some DDR2 8500 because the
box said it was supporting 1333MHz FSB and 1066MHz memory... Well, not
quite! It does support DDR3 8500 but only DDR2 up to 6400.
So, should I return my DDR2 8500 5-5-5-15 and get a set of DDR2 6400
cas3 or keep the DDR2...

Appreciate some help on Core 2 Duo chip selection by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I have been a user of Asus for a number of years but always with an AMD
chip, the last being an Athlon 64 3000+ which I o/c'ed a moderate amount on
my A8V. I am now the owner of an Asus P5W DH and need to populate it with an
Intel CPU. I am looking to spend less than $200. I do not...

Any application that warns of high temperature? by

I am literally going nuts over this.
I desperately need an application that will actually WARN me when my
GPU temp goes over 68c or something similar. So many temperature
reading applications out there, but none of them freaking warn me!

only $7 US, quite a bargain.

I tried to stress all four cores with the aplets I already have, (Orthos,
