Boot Fails From Hard Drive or CD Drive by
RabidRobert
Over the weekend, I looked at a friends Gateway Emachine from around 2005,
80 Gig HD, which was half empty, 1 Gig of RAM, and WinXP SP3. (I know,
emachine.)
Booting from hard drive goes to endless loop: emachine splash screen
- Windows Boot Options (safe mode, etc.) and back and forth...

I can't find the color palette.

No color palette displays. I'm editing a PNG file, does that have
anything to do with it?
Thanks.

Fan monitors by
Loren Pechtel[_2_]
I'm looking for something that will simply tell me if the fans are
turning. I'm not after a fancy controller, just a set of LEDs.
Basically everything I'm finding is focused on controlling the speed,
monitoring is at best a secondary thought.
Any suggestions?

No more Logitech MicroGear Smartshift? The MX Revolution failed! by

No more Logitech MicroGear Smartshift?!
That's sad, if confirmed. It was a wonderful feature, to
automatically switch between normal and freewheeling mouse wheel
scroll modes. The function is still working perfectly on my three
year old MX Revolution. All you have to do is flick your...

Kingston flash drive trouble by
John Doe
Got a Kingston 16 GB flash drive for $11 US. Uninstalled the
urDrive program and deleted the partition. Properties says free
space is 14.5 GB. I can copy small files to it, but it won't allow
copying a 7 GB file. Says the destination drive is full, then says
there is not enough free disk space....

Fuses blow up by

Good day,
I came home yesterday and found out the electricity out. After checking
the electrical apparatus (taking them out and back in their plug, I
found out my comp was the culprit and would not fire up anymore anyway.
I took it to another room, did not change anything.
It has a MSI 848P...

fine. The BIOS did give the message: Auto-Detecting Pri master. I

I did some checking and then reattached the plugs to the hard drive

Firefox, a techie's delight by
John Doe
I wanted to increase the number of tabs that can be undone after
being closed. Naturally I looked in "about:config". Entered the
word "tabs". Noticed the entry "browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo".
Increased that number twofold. Appears to have worked.
That is just amazing IMO.
