Block level backup by
Samuel
Hi everyone,
I have a problem that probably most of you have seen. We have a an app
which archives thousands of jpeg images daily(4000). They are stored
in a Dell PV220S. I chose this kind of storage (I am not at all an
storage expert) because high end SAN's were too expensive(a NAS was not
an...

IBM San Volume Controller by
Darek
Hello,
Is it possible to use SAN Volume Controller with direct
attached Storage Arrays? I mean without switches...? I am not
sure if SVC HBA's are able to manage buffer credits as
switches do.
Best Regards

Expanding LUNs with Navisphere by
Jeff
I need to expand a couple of LUNs and am seeking advice regarding how
to proceed.
We are using a Dell/EMC Clarion 300. We have two RAID groups (1 and 2)
that had multiple LUNs on each RAID group with the LUNs assigned to
different servers (I know, bad idea). Only one server uses the two...

identical and probably never will be. Now we have a project where we
wish to synchronise...

HBA failover on Windows ? by
[email protected]
Is there anyone who configured an HBA failover on Windows ?
What I need is a simple failover driver, not load-balancing, not a
failover between 2 different HBAs. Am I the only one who needs it?
My experience:
it looks that Emulex driver doesn't support failover on...

EMC Locks Customers Out Of Their Own Systems? by
Jeffery
We've got a rumor running around in our shop that EMC, and especially
with their CLARiiON product, that they lock customers out of the system
so that only EMC Support reps can perform what I would consider
standard debugging procedures.
I mean stuff like determinging if a particular disk in the...

crobinson88
I have a Scalar 100 with 3 IBM Ultrium LTO1 drives installed. I have a
need to add a drive or upgrade completely to LTO3. I want to know if
installing say a Certance CL1101 will work and what steps it takes to
get the library to notice the drives.
Thanks

writing simultaneously to 2 or more network filesystems by
[email protected]
Hello,
We have a computer (DAQ) that will generate 300GB/hour and we will
process the data (images of 18 - 30MB) using a cluster.
The data processing *must* occur at the same time as the "data
acquisition" so we do not want to use the same network or file-server
in order not to slow down either...
